Tungsten Carbide Rings versus Titanium Rings
Major differences everyone should know of between tungsten carbide rings and titanium.
I know more about Tungsten Carbide rings than Titanium rings but I will try to be honest and fair in my comparisons and the way I share my research. I should start by saying they are similar in more ways than they are different one way being that they have both came to light, to fashion, to acceptance only in the recent past lets say the past 10 years or so. And they are both known as mens rings although more and more are being fashioned with the female in mind including sizes 4-7 in most of the hot, new fashions this is nice because couples can now purchase them as his and her varieties.
A few other similarities might be the color most of these fashions are in a darker gray to black and they both come in a huge variety of inlaid materials. Both are known as "tough" rings stable, rugged, masculine. And finally, the price points are quite similar when comparing like qualities. If a person chooses to buy from what the industry calls a "knock-off" manufacturer, these can usually be purchased under $100. The down side to these manufacturers is that you never know how they made them, what materials might have been used and frankly who made them were unskilled craftsmen used in effect compromising the quality in ways that a person would not know for a few years? In some of the finer fashions and patented designs, and if inlays are crafted including some of the more expensive stones and materials, a person can easily spend upwards of a thousand dollars.
Tungsten carbide rings are heavier. It is also extremely hard, durable, scratch-resistant and mar-proof. The same can be said of titanium except that they are far lighter. In fact, this might be the main and most distinguishing factor. In that they are both a masculine entry into fashion jewelry, they are both known for their rugged and tough exterior although they also look lustrous and polished. You will see movie stars and actors, professional athletes and professionals from the sciences and business environments wearing these styles you will also see the working class sporting the latest design.
Interestingly, with all these similarities one might ask why are they so different. It gets back to one main characteristic different metals. But I am now back to another of their many similarities caring for these fine pieces. Using a damp cloth is about as difficult as it gets. Avoid using harsh abrasives or even jewelry cleaners. Wear them, enjoy them, clean them in a simple fashion and then enjoy one more striking similarity they should both last a lifetime!
