The tuna diet plan is one of the popular crash diets adopted not only by youngsters but even people in other age brackets to lose weight fast. 3 Day Tuna Fish Diet Menu and Diet Plan

A person following the 3 day diet plan is required to strictly eat only these tuna diet foods mentioned above for 3 days in a week. The other four days in the week, the person can eat the regular foods (non-fatty of course!). Then again next week, the person resumes this diet for 3 days and a regular diet for the other 4 days.   • 2-3 oz lean meat/ chicken
  • 1 cup green beans/ cauliflower
  • 1 cup grated carrot
  • 1 apple
  • ½ cup sugar free ice-cream
Tuna Fish Diet Plan: Day 2

Breakfast
  • One egg (Prepared in any style)
  • One slice plain toast
  • One banana
  • Water, diet soda, black coffee or black tea
Lunch
  • 1 cup of cottage cheese/ tuna
  • 8 saltine crackers
Dinner
  • 2 hotdogs/ 2 beef franks
  • 1 cup cabbage
  • ½ cup grated carrots
  • ½ banana
  • ½ cup sugar free ice-cream
Tuna Fish Diet Plan: Day 3

Breakfast
  • 4-5 Saltine crackers
  • One slice Cheddar cheese / one egg
  • One 4-oz glass of apple juice
  • Water, diet soda, black coffee or black tea
Lunch
  • One boiled egg
  • One slice of plain toast
  • One small apple
  • Water, diet soda, black coffee or black tea
Dinner
  • One cup tuna/ chicken or turkey
  • One cup cauliflower/ green beans
  • One cup grated carrots
  • One cup melon/ cantaloupe/ one small apple
  • ½ cup sugar free ice-cream
One is also allowed to add lemon, vinegar, herbs and condiments like tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard sauce, soy sauce to the food for flavoring. While tuna does not dominate the entire tuna diet menu, it is compulsory to have tuna once a day at least, for lunch or dinner.

Is the Tuna Diet Plan Healthy?

Tuna diet is a low calorie diet that restricts the amount of calorie one intakes to only 1000 calories a day. However, an intake of only 1000 calories for a day is not enough for the body's normal functioning. Thus, tuna diets and starvation diets and are not healthy solutions for the body. Yes, one does lose weight with such a diet, however, the weight lost is only water weight, which the body will regain as soon as one resumes eating normally. Moreover, there also lies a risk. Because, such starvation diets lower body metabolism, there lies the risk of putting on more weight than before. Therefore, tuna diet plans are not healthy or permanent weight loss solutions.
