Trusting Souls 4

The next few months were the happiest that I had ever experienced. Drake was so caring, so good... he made my self-esteem boost right up. Ashley said she envied how close Drake and I had become as a couple. She told me that she and mike had to go a long way before they could trust each other to that extent.

School was ending... but I didn't want to leave. I had become so content here that this place felt more like home to me than anywhere else. Still, I had to go home, mom and dad would be waiting. And Drake was going to come visit me, I wanted him to meet my parents. Yeah, we had come that close.

We decided to visit the nearby town one day... as our last official hangout. Ashley and Mike, me and Drake, Nancy and Ben... a triple date. Wow! That was something new we just had to try out.

We went to the movies first. Drake being the saint he is didn't try to act smart at all, though I think I wouldn't have minded. But I twined my fingers through his, just to show how much I cared. We were like a grown up couple. We teased each other that we were seventeen going on forty.

"You look beautiful", he whispered in my ear. In a simple shirt and jeans? He had got to be kidding me! "You too", I whispered back. "Ah, it's just my charm baby" we laughed, but the others shut us up. So we just kept looking at each other and making faces.

"Gosh, will you two ever act your age?", Ashley said after the movie was over. Boring action flick, girls don't like them. Will guys ever learn? We all laughed and sat in a café across the road. We talked a lot, then separated.

I went to stand outside, the weather was amazing. Pleasant, with a cool breeze. Just the way I wanted it to be.
"Hey gorgeous", Drake joined me
"Hey handsome"
"I am going to miss you Sill, you are the only one who can stand all my crap. I don't think I would be able to find another chic who's as patient as you are."

"Hey, you are the one who is patient, and you have to stand all my crap", I said indignantly.
"Ah! that's right. I was just waiting for you to say it so that you would know how lucky you are to have landed yourself a guy like me", he teased.
I rolled my eyes at him and chuckled.

"Seriously Sill, I really like you. This thing between us is pretty serious", I loved it whenever he told me about his feelings.
"I know... I feel the same way", I told him.
"I can't wait to meet your mom and dad. Though I think getting along with them is going to be easy, from what you say. What about your grandmother? "
"Sherry? She used to bother me a lot before.. But now we get along famously. I told her about us... she wanted to know about the hottie I am dating. I think Sesame spilled the beans-"

"It's going to be tough to live up to her expectations though I am aware I am quite attractive physically", he spoke seductively in my ear. I laughed and pulled him close . We kissed, and were drawn apart by a kid who had chosen to bump his bicycle into him at the exact moment.

When I looked at the kid closely, I forgot everything else. He looked so much like Skye... some place in my chest hurt. I still missed him... oh Skye...

Drake understood and helped the boy straighten his bicycle and ride off. He looked at me, composing what to say.
"Sill, you okay?", he asked.
"I am fine baby, it's just that... he looks just like-"
"Skye"
"yes"

About that Silvia, is it going to be weird visiting your place... do they still talk about Skye?"
"No, they hardly do. Even thinking about him causes us so much pain."
"I can understand that sweetheart, but you haven't told me how he died. He was so young."
"He had an accident."
"Oh sweetheart, what happened?"

I became absolutely still, my mind went blank.
Drake become worried, "Sill, what?"
"I don't know"
"What?"
"I don't know how he died"
"But Sill-"
"He was the most important person in my life, and I don't know the cause of his death."
"It's nothing to worry about Sill, you only have to ask your parents. They wouldn't have given details to a young girl who had just lost her brother."

"Yeah, you are right"
"You sure?"
"Yes, I am fine", I lied.
"Okay then, let's go inside", Drake told me, still worried.

He was a star, to take things calmly. I gave him a look full of gratitude, and he kissed my forehead.
"It's alright Sill, you know I want you to be happy. Don't think too much about this now. Or else it will just ruin your day."
"What will I do without you? You are the best Drake"
"Tell me something i don't know chic", he grinned and we joined the others, whispering, teasing, empowered by a strong mutual feeling of love.
