Do not time your run until the treadmill is 6% and you are running at a marathon pace. Try this treadmill workout 6 times a week. If you are able to do this hill workout with ease, then you are ready for your marathon.

Workout #2: This is one of the simple, yet most effective treadmill workouts to burn fat and give you a runner's stamina. Start with a 5 minute brisk walk as a warm up. Gently increase the speed every 3 minutes or every ½ kilometer.

Workout #3: Most treadmills come with a limit of 16 km/h and most runners would want to do more than that. Increase your incline to 7% and set up a speed of 13 km/h. Now, to get more benefit from your treadmill workout. Increase the incline and not the speed. As you increase your incline you will use more energy and stamina in running. This prepares you for your forthcoming races.

Treadmill Workouts for Women

Women are busy people, taking care of the house, husband and kids they do it all in just 24 hours. Well, after your husband and kids have left, you can have some free time. So why not exercise and keep your body fit. Don't worry, you won't have to go to the gym. You can work out in your own private space and enjoy it. History says women have always been graceful, so why not start with some treadmill workouts that will improve flexibility and shed of those extra pounds.

Workout #1: Simply walk backwards on a treadmill. This workout can be useful for dancers, to become more graceful and have balance in their body. Spend 10 to 15 minutes on this workout and see the change in few weeks.

Workout #2: The second workout is the most important and the most effective exercise. Walking is the first thing that comes to your mind when you say the word "treadmill". Set a pace at which you feel comfortable, and walk for 20 minutes. You can start your walk at a speed of 5 km/hr, and if you feel that you want a more sweaty workout increase your speed to 6.5 km/hr. Walking is also a good warm up and one of the best workouts to lose weight.

Workout #3: One of the best treadmill workouts for abs. Stretch treadmill workout is a mixture of aerobic training and lots of stretching. You can start this workout by walking on the treadmill for 10 minutes. Step off and begin stretching exercises for 10 minutes, and then again begin walking.

Anybody can use a treadmill and get in shape or to simply have a daily dose of exercise. You don't need to go to the gym, or a personal trainer for performing treadmill workouts. The only point to remember is never increase your speed all of a sudden, otherwise you might suffer from muscle cramps or injury.
