Training Multiple Dogs with the Tri-Tonics Training Collar
Information on training more than one dog at a time.
If you are interested in training more than one dog at a time, the Tri-Tonics system could be just what you are looking for. This system allows you to provide comprehensive and effective training using a top quality product. The Tri-Tronics name is associated with high quality and this time and effort saving system is invaluable to trainers.
The G2 EXP and Sport G3 systems both offer the ability for the trainer to train up to three dogs at one time. This means that hunting dogs all receive the same message and same training at all times. The Classic 70 G2EXP and Trashbreaker G2EXP can be use for up to six dogs. This eliminates the need to train each dog individually and the concern that they will learn different commands.
In order to ensure that you are able to use the unique, multi-dog feature you need separate receivers. These can easily be ordered from Tri-Tronics customer service. If you prefer, your dealer may have these products in stock. Verify that the model and part numbers match so that they will work with your existing system.
Preparation and Programming
Each model that allows for expansion can be obtained with color straps. These are then worked through the loops on the receiver. Charging is important – you must charge each receiver for not less than two (2) hours to get the maximum usage. During use, the selection switch is toggled between the various color straps to set them for the dog(s). Intensity settings are not the same as they are on individual collars, so be certain to refer to the Tri-Tronincs manual to ensure you understand the controls fully. Once you have turned on the receiver you can adjust settings using the intensity button in conjunction with the on/off switch to program various features.
Programming can be confirmed by shutting the unit off and then turning it back on. Properly programmed units will result in the indicator light being on. If unsuccessful, repeat the steps as indicated in the manual and repeat until all additional units are programmed.
Additional Benefits
One of the challenges of working with dogs in the field is that from time to time a receiver may become lost or the batteries may die. If you make a habit of carrying an extra, programmed receiver with you, you will not have to worry about a misplaced unit or an uncharged unit.
Tri-Tronics products are available regardless of your needs and these units with multiple-dog receivers are a great solution for training multiple dogs at one time or for preventing the inconvenience of a lost or discharged receiver in the field.
