Tough Love 23
Decks Point Of View! Comment People! hehe.
Decklan’s Point of View:
I got a shock when I felt something vibrate in my pocket. I almost screamed. Literally. At least no one was here to see. I was still in a bad mood. My mother and father wont listen to me, my brothers are a pain, Mekaela was busy with her own problems and now Jess.
Flipping the phone open I noticed that it was Tye that was ringing. I hoped it was news about Jess.
"Yeah?"
"Decklan? We’ve found Jess…. Well she found us really bu-"
"Hold on a minute. Jess found you guys?"
"She called ten minutes ago."
"Why didn’t you ring me straight after that?!"
I could feel him roll his eyes on the other side. "Because I had to call off the search dumb ass."
"A search? What do you mean?"
"Aiden and them."
"Oh….right. I’m on my way now."
"See you then."
I hung up and threw the phone onto the passengers seat. I was glad Jess was okay. Actually, more then glad. I was ECSTATIC, knowing my sister, my baby sister was coming home. Bad things has happened lately, but this one went to far off the scale on my bad day list.
It was pouring outside, like something bad was going to happen. You know, like in those stories about those vampires and werewolves, criminals and stuff. So cliche really.
Then it happened. Damn it to hell it happened.
I was sure that I was driving at about 90 km/hr. Who wouldn’t right? If you wanted to see someone you missed so much and haven’t seen in ages - well four hours really; what do you expect? My sister has been missing for the past four-to-five hours and damn it was I glad to know that she was coming home again.
Then out of no where, in the middle of the damn road lay a dead dog. A dead, damn dog. Lucky I saw it early though, I would have had a bad accident if I didn’t. Tires screeching, I put the car in neutral and looked at the body. Its neck was torn open, its body pale as sheet. What the hell?
Then something hit my car, rocked it to the left. Then another came from the right, then another from the rooftop.
"What the fuck?"
Outside, in the dark I saw two pairs of red eyes. Very scary looking eyes. Then just like that the thing disappeared. Another blow came from the rear end of my car, then the rooftop again.
Screaming "fuck" at who ever or what ever was doing this to my car, I put the car into gear and sped off. The thing was still on the roof top though. Finally ahead of me was a curve. Smiling, I swirled to the right - hard and smooth, pulled the hand brake up and the thing fell onto my bumper.
"Fuck this."
Not caring in to world what the thing was, I reversed and the body fell onto the ground. the thing screeched and jumped up onto my car. Boy was this fun.
The dude had fangs, eyes red, and his skin bloody pale. Not only was this thing ugly, but he sure as hell looked a lot like Josh - my sisters Josh, if you know what I mean. This was like some scary thriller that I had put on to watch. Only this time, I was in that movie.
Putting the car into gear again, I ran the damn thing over; speeding home; not once, or ever looking at that ugly thing.
Barely missing the pole on my right while turning, I turned into my street and saw an old rust bucket drive up into our drive way. Nice ride; though I cant say anything. Just looking at my car, maybe I should call my one a rust bucket as well.
That was fun I must say, having that damn vampire on my car. I should have killed the damn thing; but it was a shame, cause then it wouldn’t have been a fair fight; him with fangs and me with nothing but the earth. Who would you think would win?
I’m not sure myself.
Trying to catch a few deep breaths before I got out of the car, the first thing I heard was someone screaming, then a sob, then footsteps.
I got out of the car and looked up at Jess, running to me with wide eyes.
"Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh. What did you do? What happened."
She ran to me and hugged me. I returned it with all my might and sighed in relief; for the both us being alive.
"Where have you been?"
"Who cares about where I’ve been." She pulled away from me and looked into my eyes. "Punk, what did you do with our car?"
Laughing, I held her hand and turned to observe what I would now call a crushed tin can. "Trouble on the road."
Her eyes narrowed. Damn it was hard to lie to her. "Fine. I got hit by a damn vampire."
Her hand crushed mine, and I swear I heard something, or maybe it was my bone, crack.
"You got hit by a damn vampire?" she growled.
"Shh, the neighbors would here you."
"What do you mean a vampire attacked you on the road?"
Sensing someone was watching us, I looked up and saw another stranger looking at us. How many men does she have in her life?
The front door opened and out came mum, dad, Tye, Bow and Beau; all running over to me and Jess. Beau stopped to take a look at the new guy. Mum took one look at the car behind me and then quickened her steps - and so did my dad.
This was going to be a long night.
All sorts of question came out of their mouths.
"What happened to your car?" and "Where have you been young lady?" or "Dude, nice car."
Jess held up her hand and silence them. "Guys, I want you to meet the guy that helped me home."
I looked at the guy and chuckled. "He good looking."
Jess blushed. "Shut up punk. I’m not single, remember," she whispered.
"That’s what they all say," I whispered back, then laughed.
Ignoring me, she looked at the new guy and said, "Guys, this is Anjelo, Anjelo this is my mum," she said pointing at our mother, "that’s my dad, that’s my older brother Tye, the twins Beau and Bow and this punk here is Deck."
"Sup," I said.
I stepped closer and looked at his eyes. He had awesome eyes, no wonder Jess was so fond of him; even though she doesn’t want to admit it, I knew she was.
"Hi."
He looked a bit rough. Nothing I’ve come across before - the nationality I mean. he wasn’t white, no, nor was he dark; he wasn’t Spanish, or Indian. Curious, I asked him, "What are you?"
Jess sighed then rolled her eyes.
"What do you mean?" asked Anjelo.
"Like where are you from?" said Beau.
"Dude, it cant be that hard," said Bow.
"I’m a bit of everything. I’ve a little bit of Italian in me, Spanish and Islander."
"An Islander you say? Like from those little islands and stuff?"
He nodded. "Yeop. That’s me. Anyway, as much as I love to stay here and chat with you guys, I have a house to run, forest to guard, and a mother and father to get home to."
Jess giggled and said, "Well thanks for bringing me home Anjelo."
He shrugged. "Hey, no biggie. Next time you do one of them disappearing acts, make sure you stop by for a visit."
He hopped into his truck and pulled away, and into the night.
"Thanks again!" my mother called out. It was the first time I have heard her speak since I got here.
"Yeah, thanks!" my father called out.
Anjelo beeped his horn three times then disappeared - finally.
"You two are in BIG trouble. Into the house now," my mother demanded.
I rolled my eyes and whispered to Jess. "Some homecoming this is."
Jess laughed, and so did Tye. He must have heard me.
I was so glad to be back home; with Jess, my mum and dad and the boys. Though I felt pretty bad for my car. I looked back at it and sighed, then walked back into the house with Jess. She must have thought the same thing cause she sighed as well.
