Tough Love 20
This is Jess's point of view. So so sorry for the late one.
Enemies coming face to face:
Jess’s Point of View.
It was strange. All my energy, my skin, my looks, I was hideous, totally hideous. That was just so not cool. I must be coming down with a fever or something, or it must have been my powers. I discovered that I have different abilities: the four elements and also mind reading. It was just crazy.
"You coming Jess?" asked Decklan. We just got out of class. Talk about center of attention, especially from the guys - and Christina. She really does hate me. No doubt one of these days she is going to hunt me down and try and kill me. Ha, what a laugh that would be.
"I’d be there soon. I forgot something in my locker. Catch you guys later, and please, save me some chips," I joked.
He laughed and said, "Sure. You don’t have to worry about me though, its Beau that you have to worry about."
I poked my tongue. "Tell him to leave me some."
He nodded and walked down the hall into the cafeteria. It was about ten minutes later or so that I felt that someone was watching me, which was weird, I thought that it had stopped ever since I stopped phasing, but maybe I was just hallucinating or something.
Laughter echoed down the hallway. It wasn’t just that, it sounded evil, scary mostly. A sweat broke on my brow.
"This is bloody freaky," I mumbled, locking my locker. I turned around and BAM! Guess who we have, Leila and Jena. Great, just what I need.
I was starving and thirsty and bloody well weak.
"Great. This is uh, how may I help you?" I asked sweetly, batting my eyelashes.
Leila narrowed her eyes and said, "Listen. I know who you are. Touch Tyrone and you wont ever, ever get to see any of your family or friends ever again."
I looked at her, shocked. "What the hell has gotten into you?"
"I’ve seen the way you look at him Jess. You know, you fooled me at first, but then I found out that you were Entara, some old lame name for your kind."
"Those Entara’s, shame on them," said Jena.
Okay, now I was confused. What the hell are they talking about? "What has this got to do with me?"
She shoved me and grabbed my throat. Hell, she was choking me. Her hand was like steel, and her friend slash sister Jena was standing there laughing. Where do you find help when you need it?
"Lunch is it sis?" she asked.
"I’ll just toy around with her first," said Leila, smiling at me, showing me her fangs.
"Fuck," I mumbled.
"Yeah, fuck," she said.
She grabbed me and threw me into the wall. A big bang sound was made, at least I left a dent.
I couldn’t breath, my body hurt like hell, and I was too damn weak to stand up. She kicked me in the stomach and I doubled over in pain, spitting out blood. She laughed.
"Kick the lady while she’s down will you," I mumbled. "Some fighter you are."
She kicked me again. Heck, even her kicks were like steel. I spat out more blood while I was on all fours. I looked down at my hands, they were bruised. Shit, this is just, this isn’t what I had expected for my first day back in school.
Another kick came from the other side, then a shove, and finally someone was holding me off the floor, choking me.
Okay this bitch was seriously pissing me off. If she wants a fight, than that’s what she’s going to get.
"Not so tough now are you Entara," she whispered, then threw me to the wall.
I stumbled, lost my balance and fell onto the ground, landing hard on my ass. This is one hell of a lame fight, but who am I to judge? According to Leila and Jena, I was just some Entara. Gee, my day just gets better and better. Do I have a sign on my forehead that says: I’m Entara, kick me cause it’s my first day?
Cause seriously, it sure as hell feels like it. They both laughed at me. These two good-for-nothing idiots were barking up the wrong Entara, what ever that means. If they were so desperate for a fight, oh they will get it, and they would pay for the damage. I caught a glimpse of myself on the base of a sink while I was on my ass. Hell, I was horrible, worse than before. My hair was stuck onto my face, red marks were on my neck, blood trickling down my nose. I was sure I had bruises on my stomach, who knows, maybe I had them on my ass as well, that was some pretty nasty fall I had before.
Leila grabbed my throat again and licked the blood off my forehead while holding me up, eyes rolling back, nose flaring, eyes glazed. Shit, not only was she a lame fighter, but she was a nutcase. I mean who does that? Lick someone’s blood while they were injured? There are some sick people in this world.
Jena’s breathing quickened, nose flaring, eyes glazed, hunger in her eyes.
Okay, this was seriously scaring me. I’ve heard of things that don’t exist in this world, but right now, right in front of me, that thing was happening.
They were vampires damn it, and I was sure as hell toasted, or lunch as I recall Jena saying.
"So sweet," murmured Leila, opening her eyes.
"Careful Leila, her blood could be poisonous. She is Entara after all," said Jena.
Leila laughed, a very wicked one. "Who cares. The world would be better off with out these Entara’s anyway."
"Better off with - out us? We don’t - suck blood - from living - breathing human beings," I said, choking. Her hand wouldn’t budge.
"We don’t drink human blood Entara. Well, most times anyway, but who are you to judge?" said Leila.
Her minion Jena snickered. I glared at her, which shut her up. At least that made Leila even more angrier than before. I was known for my talent of annoying the crap out of people - in this case, make that a vampire. Two very hungry looking vampires.
"Let me…down," I commanded, instead a my voice came out as a croak, which made them laugh. "You seriously don’t want to piss me off."
Leila’s eyes narrowed and said, "and why is that, Entara."
"I could kill you right here, right now."
It was suppose to be a threat, to make her let go of me, instead her hold was stronger than before. I pissed her off even more, and I was dying, because someone was loving every minute of me being choked to death. Someone is going to pay for this.
"She’s bluffing Lee, don’t listen to her," said Jena.
"I know she is."
"Do you?" I asked, struggling for air.
The hallway shook, wind coming in out of nowhere, heat building up in the room. She asked for this didn’t she? It was time for her to pay.
Leila and Jena looked at each other, confused. I smiled at them and said, "told you so."
Leila let go of me and stumbled backwards, so did Jena. Both started for the door, fear in their eyes. Didn’t I warn them about this? Didn’t I tell them this would happen? How could I kill a vampire anyway? I had no silver, definitely no gun – no weapon? Except I had my powers, and they were building up along with the anger that was in me.
An invisible blow pushed Jena back - hard. She stumbled backwards and looked around. A punch went to Leila’s stomach - hard as well. She staggered but remained standing. She was strong.
Jena screamed as I started pulling on her hair - it was like watching some sort of invisible string pulling her along. I cut off her scream mid-way. She deserved it. Adding that to the pain, she flew into the air and crashed to wall, a loud crack, which was probably one of her bones. I didn’t care really, vampires heal fast, at least I was told they did. In movies mostly.
I turned to Leila, she was still in shock. I smiled at her, and she staggered. A blow went to her face which sent her backwards. A kick to the stomach, then another one, all invisible blows. Finally, I ended it as I threw her to the wall, making a loud bang – louder than Jena’s actually. She lay motionless on the ground. Sweat formed on my brow, the heat increasing, my hair slashing onto my face. Leaves were on the floor. Where had they come from? Most importantly, where did I get my powers from?
Another story there to tell.
Three bodies emerged from the doorway. The bigger, broader one set his eyes on Jena and glared at me. Was it Ben? I wasn’t sure. The other two I could identify. Sam and Tyrone. I rolled my eyes, more vampires to deal with.
I didn’t waste any time on them. As soon as Ben lunged for me, I did exactly the same thing to him as I did to Leila and Jena - except for the kicking part. That just seemed too cruel for him, I didn’t want to ruin his perfect face anyway.
Second was Sam. I threw him into the wall, cutting of his hearing and vision, making his body limb. What great power I had? But where did they come from?
Tyrone hesitated, but lunged for me anyway. I wasn’t sure if it was because his whole group was on the floor in front of him, or because it was I that did the damage? Maybe both - I didn’t care. He was faster than the rest of them. I caught him though, still using that invisible force, I choked him, cutting off his hearing and sight, threw him hard to the wall. I hated him - no disliked him, hate was too strong of a word, for hurting me all the time, though I was happy with Josh, I wanted me and Tyrone to be friends.
Breathing hard, I looked down at the bodies. Casting an illusion into their minds, I made them feel paralyzed, un-able to move. I was sure my eyes were burning dark red with rage, I wanted to kill them, had the power to kill them - but I didn’t, I wasn’t evil. Though there was something there that wanted me to kill them. I wasn’t sure if a vampire could be killed anyway. I had to get that checked out.
Another invisible force was made as I drew a big hole on the wall and walked out. Hesitating, I glanced back at Tyrone’s life less body, it would be over before they knew it – then vanished. I didn’t know where, didn’t care. I was exhausted, needed to get into bed, get some sleep, get my energy back.
