Tough Love 18

There's a new boy in town!!
Dinner:
Jessica’s Point of View:

I lay on my bed after I had my shower still thinking about Tyrone and Leila. Hadn’t he told me that there wasn’t anything going on between the two of them?
This Dejavu thing, everything I had thought that had happened, everything that I had dreamed, was a waste of time. I actually thought I had a shot at making it right this time. I actually thought that I had the chance to talk with Tyrone. I wanted to get to know him better, to get to see the side that Aiden thought was evil. I sighed, this was all just a waste of time.

I felt tears slide down my cheek. I wiped it away. Why was it that I felt attracted to this person? What was it with him that I could actually shed a tear because of a kiss, a kiss that he shared with someone else and not me?
I looked down into my hands and felt the power in me. Slowly flames came out, a blue-greenish colour this time. I put my palm up closer to my face, concentrating on it, putting images into my mind. The first thing that came into my mind was Tyrone. The flames grew, creating something. I looked at it with complete awe, admiring the art, the power that I had. Slowly the flames turned into Tyrone’s face. I gasped, I was so absorbed in what I was doing I didn’t hear Mekaela come into my room.
"Wow."

I looked up and saw Mekaela. She was wearing the same thing I saw her wear in my dreams. Her hair pinned up into a bun. She was wearing a black strapless dress with red heels, lip gloss and mascara with eye liner and blue eye shadow. She looked like she was going to the Oscars, not out having dinner with us.
"Hey Mekaela, close the door."
I still had Tyrone’s flaming face on my hand. I looked down at it again.
"Is that who I think it is?" asked Mekaela.
I looked up again. "Yeah. I met him and Leila today at Starbucks."
She winced. "I heard about that. Deck told me on our way here. Tell you the truth, Leila’s had her eyes on him for as long as I could remember."
"I know. Never mind about him-and her." I shook my hands to remove the picture of Tyrone and got up to get into my clothes.

"Their family is quite strange really. Alexy, the other sister is the quiet one. She keeps to herself most of the time. Her boyfriend Marrick a.k.a Ben, is the total opposite. He never stops talking. Sam is the young one. He’s kind of both aye. Sometimes he’s quiet, sometimes he’s loud. As for Leila, well you know how she is, and they’re all 17 by the way."
I nodded. "You know them pretty well."
"Yeah. Well I use to date Sam. It didn’t last though. We only went out for like 3 weeks and he broke it off, saying that it wouldn’t work between us. I guess he was right."
I looked at her with wide eyes. "You went out with him? Wow, that’s probably the reason why you know so much about them."
"I know, but it was nice, and he was such a good kisser! I mean not that Deck ain’t good, he is really good-"

"Okay Mekaela, I get it. Thanks for putting that picture in my mind."
She was silent for a second. "Are you okay?"
I nodded. "Never been better."
"Come on and get ready. The guys are downstairs and they’re all waiting for us. Boy can your momma cook. She’s got a feast that could feed a whole army."
I laughed. "That’s my mum. She loves to cook."
"It’s good to hear you laugh again. Come on, I’ll help you with your stuff."
I nodded and pulled on my black tight jeans, white singlet with my favourite black vest and wore my favourite black and white stripped vans.
I left Mekaela to do my hair. I wasn’t sure what she was going to do with it, the way I see it, it didn’t need that much fixing.
If my dreams were coming true, maybe I do have those powers I had in my dreams. I guess time would tell.
"Oh, and happy belated birthday honey" whispered Mekaela.

Surprise, Surprise:

I walked down the stairs with Mekaela right behind. We walked into the kitchen just in time for Deck to walk in, taking Mekaela’s hand in his and walked outside to where the pool was. I sighed, lucky them.
"You need any help mum?" I asked. I looked onto the bench, Mekaela was right. This feed could actually feed a whole army.
"Yes please, could you get that plate for me and bring it in. Go get your bothers, tell them I need help carrying some of these plates."
I nodded, taking one plate into each hand and set them on the table. "Tye, Beau, Bow and Deck, come on in here. Mum wants you guys" I called out.

I walked outside and got Deck and Mekaela. Beau and Bow were still in their room’s playing on their X-box. Tye was in the lounge with Aria on the couch. They all came into the kitchen and helped out with the plates and the food.
"Geese mum. Like always you’ve cooked more than you had to" said Tye.
"You know me honey, I love to cook. Besides, we’ve got some extra people coming in tonight. I just wanted to celebrate Jess’s birthday, that’s all" said my mother.
I rolled my eyes. It was nice of her to celebrate my birthday tonight, but to invite a few more? This cannot be happening. "Gee mum, thanks for inviting strangers into the house, again. So who else is coming?" I asked.

She shrugged, "Aria’s family, Mekaela and us. There’s enough for everybody."
"I told you, you should have told her about it so she can choose who she wants to come over for dinner" said my dad, walking in looking handsome as ever.
The doorbell rang cutting off what ever it was that my mother wanted to say.
"I’ll get it" said Bow. He ran into the lounge to open the door.
"It’s okay ma, just tell me next time will you."
She nodded. "Sure honey."

I walked out to the back and saw Aiden talking with some other guy that I didn’t know. He was around my age I guess. Aiden in his black skinny jeans and white shirt, exactly what I saw in my dreams. Except this was real, and this guy was a stranger. He wasn’t in my dreams.
He was and inch taller than Aiden. Black spiky hair with grey eyes. He was solid, a bit bigger than Aiden. He was in jeans as well, with a white dress and a black vest. He was good looking. They both had their backs on me. I walked up behind Aiden and tapped his shoulder.
I laughed when I saw him jump. "Hey. Thanks for coming tonight."
He looked me over then spoke. "Yeah, do I know you?"

I punched him lightly on the shoulder. "It’s me you egg. It’s Jess."
His eyes widened when I mentioned my name. "Oh my hell, Jess? Wow you look hot, sexy evens."
I blushed. "So who’s your friend?"
He looked at the guy next to him and smiled. "Oh yeah, Jess, this is my cousin Josh. He’s here for a holiday, right bro? Josh, this is my friend Jess. I met her at the park a few days ago."
I shook Josh’s hand and felt my heartbeat quicken when he smiled. "Nice to meet you Josh."

"Nice to meet you too Jess."
He held onto my hand a bit longer and we stared at each other until Aiden cleared his throat. "Don’t flatter yourself Jess, this guy here is not worth it" said Aiden. I blushed.
Josh punched Aiden’s shoulder and laughed. "What would you know. You haven’t even been on a date with me. I’m thirsty, could you go get me a drink please. Jess, you want one?"
"Duh-uh yeah, I mean yes please."
Aiden laughed and walked into the house to get us our drinks.
"So, how old are you?" asked Josh.
I looked up at him and smiled. "I just turned 17 last week, and you?"
"I’m 17 as well. I guess we got at least our ages in common."
I nodded. "Yes we do. So how long are you here for?"
"Just a week. I just wanted to see what it was like here. If I like it, I might actually move here."

"That’s not long enough. How are you suppose to enjoy yourself?"
He smiled again. The way he smiled was so much like Tyrone’s. "Right now, I’m actually enjoying myself."
I blushed. "Really? But all you’re doing is talking, to me. Where’s the fun in that?"
He stepped closer and rested his cheek on mine. "Where indeed."
He brushed his lips on mine and looked down at me. I stood there shocked. No one has made their move on me that fast. I looked up at him and smiled. He bent down slowly, keeping his eyes on me the whole time. Josh was a good kissed, a good kisser indeed. He pulled me in, moving his hand to wrap it around my waist. I put my arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. It felt so good. As much as I wanted to keep on kissing him, I had to end it. I pulled away and leaned my forehead against his and slowed down my breathing, the both of us breathing heavily.

I could hear someone behind me chuckle. I turned around and saw Aiden standing a few meters away from us holding two cups of water watching us with a smirk on his face. I wasn’t sure how long he had been standing there for, but it was long enough to see what had just happened with me and Josh. Josh put his around my waist and pulled me in.
"That was some show you guys put on. It was entertaining as well, very entertaining." He walked closer to us. "You work fast cousin."
I could feel Josh shrug. "I know. I just couldn’t help myself."
I rolled my eyes. "Thanks."
"Okay fun times over kids, it’s dinner time. They’re waiting for us."
Josh grabbed my hand and walked into the house.

Whistles came from the lounge as soon as we entered the room. Beau saw us first and started whistling. Bow looked up and joined Beau. Two other men were sitting with them. Who were they? Tye and Aria looked up and smiled at each other. Deck and Mekaela were seated next to Tye and Aria, as soon as Mekaela saw us she winked and smiled. My parents just looked at us not knowing what the noise was about. Aiden’s parents laughed at the confused look on my parents faces.
"I told you he works fast" said Aiden from behind us. I blushed even more and they all laughed at me.

"Stuff off Aiden" said Josh.
"Okay everybody shows over now. Come on in here you three. Seeing were all here I think its time for ya’ll to introduce yourselves" said my mother.
I nodded and led Josh into the lounge. I found us a seat. It was pretty crowded and the chairs were all gone. Josh lifted me off my chair and sat down, pulling me onto of him. More whistles came from the room. I blushed, loosing count of the times that I have blushed today.
"Guess I’ll start. Everybody I’m Mrs Brown, you can call me Janey if you want. Those are my beautiful kids there" she said pointing at each one of us, "and this is my husband Edd."

Everyone stood up and introduced themselves. First my father, who was seated next to my mother, then Aundrayah and her husband Dean. The two men that were with Beau and Bow were named: Leki and Lance. Next to them were Beau and Bow, then Tye and Aria, Deck and Mekaela, then Aiden’s older brother Logan. Tye didn’t seem to mind that he was in the same room as Logan, I guess they moved on. Aiden stood up and introduced himself. I got up and introduced myself and waited for Josh to sit back down.
"Well it’s nice to meet you all. I want to welcome you guys to the Brown’s family. Now let’s eat" announced my father.

We laughed and all got up and followed him into the dining room. At least we now know who took after our fathers eating habits, my dearest brother Beau. Josh pulled me back down and we sat there until everyone was in the dining room.
"What’s up?" I asked.
He kissed my neck and rested his head there. "You know, if I tell you this please don’t freak out."
I turned around. "Okay. What’s going on?"
He hesitated a second. "I’m not who you think I am."
I looked at him dumbly. "You’re name. It aint Josh?"
He laughed. "No, no. I-uh-am-uh. I have powers."
I looked at him and laughed. "And here I was thinking you were going to tell me you had a girlfriend or something."
"This isn’t funny Jess."

"Hey calm down. You’re not the only one with powers. Every single person in this house has powers, including me."
He looked shocked and was quiet for a minute. "Wow, so what can you do?"
"I have uh, my power is fire, like my brother Tye’s power. What about you?"
"Invisibility."
"Really?"
"Really. Go out with me Jessica Brown. Please."
I smiled at him. "I’d love to Joshua Halo."
I leaned down and gave him a kiss.

"Okay you two love birds. It’s dinner time, come on. You’re lucky it ain’t mum that’s here to get you guys. You know how she is about kissing and stuff. Now get your asses up and move. Now" said Bow.
We laughed at him and walked into the dining room.
All through dinner Josh held my hand. It felt so real, this moment I had with Josh. I just hope that he would stay a bit longer than a week. It took my mind off of Tyrone and Leila. I didn’t care about him anymore. What was in the past, was in the past. It was time I enjoy the present rather than sit and mope around about something that wasn’t meant to be.
