Tough Love 14

Dinner :

It was kind of exciting having dinner with Mekaela and Aria. I was looking forward in seeing them again, especially Mekaela. Tonight was going to be special for Decklan and Tye, guess I should wear something good for our guests. There was nothing I could do about my eyes and hair, I guess they would understand.
"Hello, anybody in here" said a voice outside my room.
"Come in…. Mekaela?" I said.
She laughed. "How did you-" she said, walking in through the door then stood with the door open, her eyes wide. "Wow. What the hell happened to you?"
I laughed nervously. "Hello to you to. Freaky, I know. Don’t tell me how I did it okay. It just happened after I phased."

She stood with the door opened. I was half naked, with only my undies and top on. "Close the door Mekaela! You know there are boys in the house. It’s disrespectful for them to see their own sister still in her undies"
She still stood there shocked. I got sick of waiting for her to close the door, so I decided to use my ability. I slammed the door shut for her and she jumped.
"How did- di- you" she stammered.
"How did I do that? Long story short, finished phasing. Pretty cool right. I could do more though."

After we got home I have been practicing with Decklan round the back. I found out that not only could I lift objects but I could also: read minds, use my force field, teleport, shape shift into anything I want, make people see imaginary things like hallucinating, speak to others through my mind, I could use all my brothers powers as long as I am next to them. All that I found out in just 3 hours. Decklan made sure that I knew all my powers. We were trying to find out what I was. Every time I changed my powers the color of my eyes would change into other colors. Sometimes a mixture of a dark and light color, sometimes both dark colors. It felt good to have these abilities in me.
"Wow Jess, I mean wow. If I thought you were pretty before, look at you now. You’re……" she looked away.

"Different?"
"No. Beautiful."
"Thanks I guess. So are you gonna give me a hug and say ‘you missed me. How have you been? What did it feel like? What are you powers?’."
Poor Mekaela. She shook her head. "Damn Jess. Deck told me you’ve changed. I didn’t think he meant this" she said looking me up and down, "change. Nice. Fill me in later on. What do you think you’re wearing?" she said.
I looked down. "What I wear all the time." I was going to wear my blue skinny Jeans with a black singlet with my hair down. It’s not like we were going anywhere. I looked at Mekaela. She looked pretty. Her hair was pinned up into a bun. She was wearing a black dress with red heels, lip gloss and miscarra with eye liner. She looked like she was going out, not having a dinner with us and the family.

"It’s just dinner Mekaela. No more upgrade looks from you" I whined.
She winked. "It’s not just a dinner Jess. This is important for me, getting to meet your parents. Even though I have met them last week. Meyah was pretty pissed that Beau didn’t invite her to that party you guys had last Sunday."
I knew it. Now I know what Beau meant. She was clingy. She seemed so nice that first time I met her. Now, it’s like she’s a different person. Not the Meyah I use to know.
"Why did she get pissed? It’s not like Beau and her were going out."
"Yeah well, that’s not what she thinks" said Mekaela, sitting down on my bed. She looked around. "I didn’t really get a good look of your room last time. I was too concentrated on your looks. This room is HUGE"

I laughed while I pulled on my jeans. "I know. My bathroom is even bigger."
"Wow, your parents must be millionaires or something"
"Billionaires."
Her eyes widened, her mouth made an ‘O’ shape. "Wow…. I never knew your family was that rich."
"Tell me about it." I used my powers to lift up my watch from the bathroom over to me. Mekaela watched with awe in her eyes.
"I totally forgot. What sort of powers do you have?" she said, coming over to fix my make up. Not that I needed it.
"I just found out today that I have more than one ability. Me and Deck were out at the back like and hour ago practicing. He showed me how to control it and everything."
"That is so cool."

"I could even get your ability."
She stopped with my make up and looked at me. "Youre shitting me right?"
"Nope. I could prove it." I concentrated on her mind, finding her power. When I found it I used my mind to shock her. She jumped up and yelp, rubbing her body.
"How did you do that?"
"Practice. I told you me and Deck were practicing."
She got back to doing my make up. "Just remind me not to get on your bad side… Please. it’s the first time I have actually felt what my power feels like. Guess I got a taste of my own medicine."

I laughed. "Yeop. Got that right. I feel like a sponge you know. It’s like I could absorb anybodys ability as long as I am next to them. But I do have a few of my own."
"Wow. Now take a look. Cant really see the difference. Your lips are just too damn red. And your eyes, nice color. Did you know that the color of eyes is baby blue outlined with a goldish color? Totally suits the eyeliner and eye shadow. Sexy eyes my brother would say. Oh, I wish I had your hair though"
I looked into the mirror. She was right. My eyes were a different colour. I wonder why though. "Ah, Mekaela. Thanks muchly. You the BEST… you sexy beast." We laughed then walked downstairs. I looked around and saw that Aria was already here with Tye. They were both sitting on the couch, hugging and giggling to each other. I rolled my eyes. "You two love birds get a room will you" I said. They looked up at me and laughed. Decklan and the twins were still in their rooms. Mum was in the kitchen fixing dinner.
"What you cooking mum?"

She looked up. "I got stake there… um sea food salad, mashes potato, corn…. And roasted chicken. I hope you two aint allergic to sea food" she said, talking to Mekaela and Aria.
"No" they said.
"Good. Honey pass me that plate on the top shelf please. I cant reach it."
I looked at her. I was an inch taller than her. What made her think that I could reach it. "Fine." Concentrating again on the plate, I brought it down carefully into my hands. "Here you go mother" I said, handing her the plate. She looked at me with the same look Mekaela gave me earlier on.
"Strange right Mrs Brown" said Mekaela. My mother just shook her head.
"My kids are all growing up."
I rolled my eyes and walked out into the pool area. I looked at the guy standing with his back to us. I didn’t notice him at first. I looked again.
"Aiden?"

He turned around. He looked at me obviously shocked.
"Yeah…. Who. Are. You?" he said.
I shook my head. Am I that hard to notice? "Idiot. Its me Jess" I said, then punched his shoulder.
"Jess? Hell…. What happened to you?" he said, then laughed.
"Duh… I phased….remember"
Aiden looked sort of different. He was more built than I last saw him. He spiked his hair. He was wearing black jeans with a white t-shirt. My kind of style.

"Yeah I know that. Damn honey, I didn’t recognize you when you said my name."
"I know. I saw Tyrone earlier on at um starbucks.. He didn’t look like he even knew me and-" I stopped mid-way when I felt Aiden tense. Then I remembered. He and Tyrone aren’t exactly good friends anymore. What is it with boys these days? Someone must have done something wrong. Maybe Tyrone stole Aidens girlfriend. Who knows.
"Damn. Sorry forgot about you and Tyrone."
"Nah its cool. Doesn’t matter anyway. So tell me. What sort of abilities do you have."
I thought about it. Maybe I could surprise him.
‘Well I have pretty much a lot. Just don’t want to bore you with all the details you know’ said into his mind. He looked at me. He was probably ready to faint or something. I smiled sweetly at him.

‘How can you do that?’
‘I don’t know really. Just found out today. Me and Deck were practicing outside like an hour ago’
‘Wow. Honestly this is amazing.’
‘I know right’
To other people walking by it must have looked strange. Me looking at Aiden, Aiden looking at me. neither of us talking.
"You love birds. Dinner time" said Beau.
Aiden blushed. Naw, I really did miss his blushing every time my brothers tease him. He looked so cute.

I punched him lightly on the shoulder. "Come on boy dinner time. I’m starving."
"Me too. Last one there is a rotten egg" said Aiden then ran. I laughed. Instead of running I teleported into the dining area. Aiden ran in a few seconds afterward. Appearing out of thin air must have been a real shock because my father almost dropped his glass of whisky when I appeared right next to him. Aiden sat next to me.
"You’re such a cheater." I smiled sweetly at him.
"Guess you’re the rotten egg"
We both laughed. "Cheater"
Dinner looked delicious. I grabbed myself a spoonful of mash potato, one corn, a piece of stake with salad. It smelled so nice.

‘Dig in everybody’ I said through my mind to all of them. They all jumped at my voice. I couldn’t help but laugh. The twins gave me and evil look then went back to eating. Tye and Decklan laughed. I looked at my dad. It looked like he was going to have a heart attack because he was clutching his heart like it was going to come out or something. My mother spilled her drink on herself. Mekaela almost choked on her salad. Aria and Aiden looked at me then laughed. It felt so good seeing them like this. I was probably acting childish, but what was the harm in having fun?
Me and Aiden talked through dinner mostly about school work. The others, like Tye and Aria were too busy being all lovy dovy. Deck and Mekaela were holding hands. The twins having everything there was on the table. My parents were pretty much quiet all through dinner.
