Tough Love 11

Aiden’s POV :

Ever since I met Jess at the park it was like I’ve known her all my life. From that day I knew we were going to be great friends. When she ran to her brother Sunday night when Logan had started that fight with her brother, I knew then that she really did care about her brothers. I could see the anger in her eyes when she looked at me when Tye was on his knees. I didn’t know that I was going to the same school as her and her brothers, fate I guess. Who knows.
My first day at Avondale High I saw Tyrone. After all the years that they have been running, they end up here. When I asked Jess if she knew Tyrone she said yeah. I looked into her eyes trying and could see that she really did have feelings for Tyrone. I wish I knew her better so at least I could read her mind and know what she is thinking about. Now knowing that not only my family had gained abilities, it feels good knowing that we aren’t alone in the world.
Today is the day she would phase. I remember the first time I phased. Hearing voices in my head I thought I was going crazy. I wonder if she would be coming to school today. I doubt she would, but I hope she would.

"Aria hurry up I don’t want to be late for school. Mason and Lance you turds hurry up! Why is it that you guys are always the late ones on your first day of school" I called out to them from downstairs. They were always late. Out of all of us Logan was the eldest. He is 20 years old with black spiky hair and built. He uses his ability to make people feel pain. He calls it ‘the mind eater’. I have no idea where he got it from but I guess he suits him. He uses it when ever he gets mad at someone.
Mason is the second eldest. His 18 years old. His ability is controlling objects. He uses it when ever he gets into a fight with Logan.
Aria is 18 years old, born a few months after Leki. She has blonde hair with black streaks in them with brown eyes. She is a shapeshifter. I have never seen her use her abilities. She said she doesn’t like showing off her abilities.
Lance is 17 years old. His ability is ice. He has blue eyes with black hair.

As for me, well I was also born a few months after Lance. I have no idea how that works. I guess it just happens. I’m 17 years old, and my ability is reading peoples mind. Well not everyone but just people I know. My mother has always told me that if I wanted to be able to read other peoples mind is to concentrate really hard. I just don’t have time to try it out.
"Keep it down idiot. Your little friend Jessica ain’t going to run away" said Logan.
"Oh shut up. How did you know about Jessica anyway?"
"She was all you could talk about. Jess this, Jess that. Boy are you obsessed"
"I am not obsessed. She is my friend you idiot."
"Heard that before."
"Yeah well it ain’t going to happen to me. and keep your thoughts to yourself"
Logan laughed. He was thinking of me and Jessica hooking up. Ugh, pathetic.
"Good morning guys. Come on lets go. I told Tye that I was meeting him before school today" said Aria.

"Where’s Leki and Lance? Cant go anywhere with out them"
"We are here. This is going to be exciting. First day of school my brother. Heaps of new chicks to look at. Oh man my days just get better and better" said Leki.
"You wish. Who would be interested in you?" said Lance. Every morning the same thing happens all the time. They are always arguing who was better.
"Yeah what ever. Get your ass in the car man. We’re running late"
"Yeah no kidding. Aren’t you two sick of fighting?" said Aria.
"Okay lets go everyone" I said, before they could say anything else.
"Right behind" said Aria.
"Ain’t someone eager today" I teased. When I saw her blush I laughed.

When we got to school Tye and the rest of them were outside next to their cars. They looked a bit pale. I didn’t know why, I just hope that it wasn’t serious.
"Hey guys, what’s up?" I asked. I looked around for Jess but couldn’t find her anywhere.
"Hey man" said Tye. He didn’t look too happy. Actually they all didn’t look happy at all.
"Hey Tye, what’s wrong?" said Aria.
He looked up at her. "Well it’s Jess’s birthday today."
I didn’t know why they were looking so sad, it was their sisters birthday. They should be happy, today was the day she was going to phase.
"She ain’t up man. We tried to wake her up but she didn’t wake up. I don’t know but she did look dead" said Bow.
No wonder why they looked so down.

"What do you mean she wont get up?" I asked.
They all shrugged. "Not sure yet. We are here for half a day then we off back home. Our parents are looking after her, just cant leave my baby sister on her own. We know her better than our own parents" said Tye.
"Is she okay?" asked Aria. She could be slow at times, but she is a good person with a great personality.
"She looked so pale, fragile. I wasn’t sure if she was alive or not. Well it maybe one of those stuff that happens when you phase or something. I am just not sure anymore" said Beau. "You should have seen her, the way she looked man. She looked so different, not the sister I know."
You think we should tell them?
That voice sounded so familiar.
We don’t even know them enough to even tell them.
I know those voices. I looked around trying to match the voice with the faces that were walking by.
I don’t know. He seems like one of those good guys. Besides he’s Jess’s friend, I’m sure that she would want him to see her.
I knew that voice.

Beau, I think he’s listen to us now. Remember he said he could read minds, maybe that’s what he’s doing now.
Bow, if he was listening to us I would have known by know. Besides I would probably kick his ass if he were listening to us now.
I shook my head then looked away. I sure wouldn’t want him to kick my ass. It was weird though, I haven’t known them that long yet I could hear their thoughts. I looked at Lance and Mason. I forgot about them, they kept looking around staring at some of the girls that were walking past us.
"So are they your cousins, friends, brothers?" asked Deck.
"Oh yeah guys this is Mason and Lance, guys that’s Tye,Decklan,Beau and Bow" I said, introducing them to each other.
"Sup" they said at once. They looked so miserable. When ever they talked they looked down.
In the cafeteria Tye and the guys were gone. Jess must be in a real bad state for them to go off like that. I walked over to where Jess and the guys would sit. Aria walked over and sat with me, a few minutes after that Leki and Lance joined us.
"Sup little brother, big sis" said Lance. He is always excited, happens everytime we start a new school.

"So how’s your first day going?" said Aria. Behind her I could see Christina looking at us. That girl never gives up.
"Great, wait more then great. Fantastic! First day of school and bam, these girls are all over you" said Lane, then smirked.
"Let me guess. This girls’ name, it ain’t Christina now is it?" I asked, amused.
"Yeah, how did you know?" said Lance.
"Been there, done that. Guess you should have started when we started aye my bro." I kept my face straight, inside my head I couldn’t stop laughing. The look on his face was just amusing.
You sonofabitch. Always the young ones that get the good ones. I laughed, when ever he was mad at me he would think every bad word he could come up with.
Not my fault. She was all over me yesterday. She couldn’t keep her hands off of me. I laughed again. I showed him images of Christina asking me out yesterday.
Keep to yourself you sonofabitch. It’s war between us now.
That wouldn’t be fair on you, because I always win. I laughed when I saw Lance glare at me.

I looked over and saw Tyrone and his brother and sisters sit across from us. I felt Leki stiffen as his gaze followed mine.
"What are they doing here?" said Mason with disgust.
Lance ance and Aria looked over at them.
"Ugh, you guys just drop it will you. It wasn’t their fault those people lost their lives. We may be enemies but they did not start the war, those other leechers did" said Aria. She has always had a soft sport. Enemy or not it didn’t matter to her.
Must be your sister thought Lance. I looked at him.
She is also your sister mate. Just let her be man, you know how she is. You wouldn’t want to get on her bad side will you?
No, hell no. we may be related but once you get on her bad side, that’s it. You’re dead meat. I laughed.
Oh well.
Luch time took forever with out Jess here playing around, telling jokes. I really hope she is okay.
