Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!
"Arghhhh" I said angrily, "give me a break."
Running downstairs while getting ready for school I noticed the house was awfully quiet. I ran back upstairs and knocked on Tyes door.
"Hello? Tye, come on I don’t want to be late for school" I said opening his door.
Great I thought he was still asleep. Thinking of a way to wake them up, I ran to my room and had my shower, brushed my teeth and got dressed.
Before I did anything stupid I checked my parents room to see if my mother was still in there. The bed was made, she must have gone to work already.

I smiled wickedly to myself. Knowing that all my brothers were still asleep, I ran downstairs and into the garage. I got into the poche and reversed. As soon as I was outside, I beeped the horn so loud I could hear my brother Decklan groan. "Come on already" I screamed, "We are going to be late for school,"
"fine then. If you guys aint gonna get up right now I am going to take the poche to school myself and the rest of you guys can come in the jeep" I called out, smiling to myself.
That did it. I could hear them running around in the house getting ready. Good I thought, that should teach them not to mess with me.

Thinking back to the previous night, it came back to me flashing before my eyes. Red eyes, its smile. The moment it lunged for me with its mouth open. I was not sure what it was, but it did look real. In this world anything could be real, anything can exist without anyone knowing.
"You know you could have waken me up earlier" said Decklan looking like he was just about ready to fall asleep.
"Yeah? Well maybe next time you guys should learn to be more patient" I laughed.
"Yeah whatever. Just don’t touch the car again will yah. You could have damaged it" he said rolling his eyes. His passion for cars was clear. He would never let anyone touch the poche without him knowing. Typical Decklan.
"Don’t you ever do that again" screamed Beau, "I was having the most amazing dream. About that chick in school. What is her name? Chrisie? Christina?" he asked.
"Uh? You’re asking me because?"
"Oh yeah. Right. After that stunt you pulled yesterday. It was really entertaining" he laughed, " but don’t ever do it again."
"Who cares. She started it. Wheres Tye and Bow?"
"Patients little sister. We are here. Did you miss us?" laughed Tye.
"Yeah what ever. Would you hurry up please. I don’t want to be late"
"Yes maa’m" saluted Bow.
We all laughed at him.

Being late to school was impossible with Decklans driving. Any old woman would have had a heart attack by now, but not me. I was use to his maniac driving. As long as I had my seat belt on, I was safe. In and out we went through and through cars and trucks. It was impossible for any human eye to see us. The speed he was driving in, I wouldn’t be able to spot it myself. Behind us Tye and the twins were right on our tail. It is the same old game everyday. Decklan and Tye would race each other to find out which was faster, obviously Decklan was a much faster driver than Tye.

"Okay little sis. We are here now. Don’t get into any more fights okay" Joked Decklan. I punched him hard on the shoulder in the car before I got out. "What ever." I waved good bye to him and the others, walked off to biology. I could hear whispers going around about the fight yesterday. " Take a picture while it lasts longer" I said to one of the girls from the cheerleading squad. I watched her run off the other direction, probably running off to inform Christina of my presence in school.

"Jessica Brown?". I twirled around to look at this stranger. " That was a good show you put on yesterday" he said then laughed.
"Yeah. If you are going to tell me off about it then your wasting your time" I told him.
He laughed, "I am just here to introduce myself. My names Tyrick. Actually I am in a few of your classes" he said.
"Okay. Nice to meet you Tyrick. Nice name, so what classes do you have with me?" I asked.
" Well I have Physics with you, Literacy and Physical Ed"
"Oh really ? I haven’t see you in any of those classes you mentioned. Are you new?"
He laughed again, " No. You’re new here. I’ve been going to this school for almost 5 years now"

"Oh really? Oh my bad thens. You are actually the first person, make that second, that I have met in school"
"Who wouldn’t miss Christina? Happens to every new student here. You are the first girl to stand up to her like that, and I praise you for that"
"Well she was lucky it was just her nose that I broke. "
"Wow, aren’t you a feisty girl" he laughed, "Well that’s great. I hate to ruin our conversation but we really really need to get going. Mr Fisher doesn’t like his students to come late into class"
"Oh shoot. That’s right, I got into trouble last week for coming in late to his class."
Running to my next class with Tyrick, I couldn’t help but feel like someone was watching me. I stopped in my tracks and turned around just to see if there was someone there. No one.
"Come on Jessica!" called Tyrick.
I ran upto him and went inside to our next class, "Just call me Jess" I said cathing upto him.
"Ahhhhhh. Miss Brown and Mr Tucker. I belive you have an explanation to why you came in late to my class" said Mr Fisher.
"Im sorry sir. Jessica and I got carried away in our conversation we had earlier and we lost track of time" explained Tyrick.
"Take a seat. Let this be your warning not to ever come late to my class again" said Mr Fisher.
"Yes sir" we said at the same time.

In Literacy, again it felt like someone was watching me. I kept looking around just incase someone was really watching me. Looking around again I saw the mysterious handsome boy I saw at the cafeteria yesterday.
"That boy at the back of the class. Is he new here aswell?" I whispered to Tyrick.
"Who Trevor? No. This Is his third year here"
"3 years? But I haven’t seen him around since I’ve been here"
"You haven’t? Well maybe you haven’t been paying attention"
"Yeah. I have a bad week you know. Ever since our big move, my dad, its hard to concentrated on everything else you know"
"That is…..hard. No really it is. Anyways, am I the first, besides Christina, that you have met in school?"
"Yeah. Im not really the type that can connect to people that easily"
"you weren’t that bad when I introduced myself to you."

I laughed at him, "Well I guess you are right there. You got skills with people don’t you?"
"You are right there Missy"

"Queit down there you two" said Mr Fisher, " I have a class I would like to teach here."
"Sorry" I mumbled.
On the far right I could see Christina laugh at us. I rolled my eyes and poked my tounge at her. That stopped her from laughing. I could see the anger in her eyes.
Want some more? Meet me outside, I mouthed her the words, smiling.

The hairs on the back of my neck stood up. Something was seriously going on. I looked around the classroom. Everyone looked like they were doing their work, even Christina.
"This might sound weird but I have this feeling like I’m being watched, you know"I told Tyrick
"That does sound weird"
"I know, but I have been getting it ever since yesterday"
"You have got some serious issues going on in your head there missy. Just to let you know, if you ever need help, I am here for you"
"I am not mental dude. Its just that its like someones watching me."
"Weird. Well the bells gonna go in a minute. We can talk about it in the caferteria"

The Cafeteria:

Meeting Tyricks friend was a different experience for me. They made me feel welcome. My whole life I have not had that many friends. Some come and go only for the interest of seeing my brothers, others just use me for my families fortune.
"So this is Meyah, that’s Teek, Kiyana and Cory, Reid, and Mekaela" pointed out Tyrick, "guys this is Jessica Brown. Shes new here so make her feel welcome."
"Wow. I love all your names. Really. I honestly do. Its different, unique."
They all laughed. "Well its nice to meet you Jessica. Welcome to the gang" said Meyah. She looked really pretty. " Its nice to meet you too. I’ll be back, I need to go and check on my brothers" I told Tyrick.

"Hey guys. Whats up?" I asked. Decklan didn’t look so happy. He kept staring off into space. "Okay then. What did you guys get upto today?" I asked Tye.
"Heya Jess. Nothing much. So I see you made friends with that group over there" he said, pointing to Tyrick and the rest of them.
"Yeah I did. They seem so nice. Especially Meyah. I think the other two that are sitting together are an item. That is kinda cool yeah. Anyways what you guys get upto today? Any news from mum about dad yet?"
"That boy over there. Why the hell is he staring at us for? What the hell is his problem" said Bow. Outside the wind had picked up speed. The number of students in the area looked worried at the sudden change of weather.

I looked across the room and saw the boy next to Trevor glare at us. Something was obviously bothering him. I could see why Bow had gotten angry. Trevor sat with his group all staring at us like we were animals. I stared at Trevor, giving him the same look his friend was giving us. We stared into each others eyes for a long time. All the anger gone from our eyes, everything around me seemed lost, the only thing visible now was him and I. I studied his futures closely. The first time I saw him, it took my breath away. Looking at him again, now, it seemed impossible to even breath.

His eyes, its strange golden colour. His rose coloured lips, his lushes hair. It would seem impossible for any girl to breath by the sight of this beautiful being.
"Jess, you know its rude to stare at someone like that" laughed Beau.
"Go and introduce yourself" said Bow calming down, now hearing what Beau had said. He loved teasing me.
I could feel the heat on my face, "No. I was just thinking and I just so happen to be looking at him" I lied.
They all sat there in silence for a minute, then laughed.
I blushed even more. "You guys are so embarrassing" I told them.
"Not as much as you are. Between you and me, he aint that bad. I mean check out the hottie on the left, they both look good" whispered Tye.
"Okay then big brother. He is good looking, but I mean I don’t even know the guy"
"You guys mind. Quiet time would be nice right now" said Decklan.
"Okay then. Whats up with you today?" I said.
"Nothing"
"Doesn’t look like nothing to me"
"I just found out that Cynthia was cheating on me"
Cynthia was his girlfriend, well ex – girlfriend. I knew she was bad news. He started dating her a few months back at our old school, Denalli High School. He was so happy that she asked him.

I thought about this. It was about time he had come to his senses about her.
"Don’t get mad at me, I know you know that I haven’t liked her ever since you guys started dating. Its about time you saw the real side of her. By the way how did you find out? Its not like she told you herself, did she?"
"No. One of my friends back in Denalli, you remember Rose? Well she saw her get together with this random guy at this party last weekend. I still cannot belive she would do that."
"Come on Deck" I wailed, " there are plenty of fishes in the ocean waiting for you to catch them. You just got to get out there and fish a good one - for all of us" I laughed along with the others joining in along with Decklan. It was good to hear him laugh again. I hated seeing any of my brothers looking sad.

"Anyways I just came to check on you guys. Im off now."
"Yeah what ever. Hey I heard that Christina chick was going to get you or something like that. Boy is she hot" said Beau. I rolled my eyes at him.
"Thanks for the warning big brother but I can take care of myself" I laughed.
Taking one last look at Trevor on the other side, I walked off to Tyrick and his group.
"Hey. We are going to the beach on Saturday. You wanna come along with us?" asked Meyah.
"Beach? Like swimming and surfing?" I asked.
"Yeah. Why? Can you not do any of it?"
"Are you kidding me? I love surfing. I mean its what I live for. My brothers think its for boys only. But I think they are just jealous"
They all looked at me and laughed.

"And to think you were one of those city girls who love to shop all the time and do girly stuff" laughed Reid.
"Uh no. I am not into those kind of things. Shop for clothes yeah, glamourous stuff, nah uh. Not my kinda style"
"That’s where I’ve seen you. You’re the chick that gave Christina a hiding" said Cory out of the blue.
I laughed, "Yeop. That’s me. I don’t like those kind of girls. They irritate me"
"You are different" said Meyah.
"I get that a lot" I laughed.
"Well its about time someone taught Christina a lesson. She really was a pain in the ass" said Cory.
"Are they your brothers?" asked Mekaela.
"Um, yeah why?" I asked her.
"Oh I’m just curious cause I saw you talking to them earlier. You don’t look at all like them"
"I get that a lot too. Im not sure but it runs in the family"
"Got that right" said Terner. It was the first time I have heard him speak.

Not far away I saw Beau stand up with Bow right after him.
On the other side I saw Trevor and one of his guy friends stand up. Everyone seemed oblivious to the fact that a fight was about to begin, and end at the same time.
I stood up at the same time as Tye and Decklan. At the same time Trevors friends stood up in unison, faces all hard, obviously angry.
Before anything, or anyone could get hurt, I walked as fast as I could to Tyes side, leaving Tyrick and the rest behind talking, oblivious to my absence.
I have always wanted a fight, a real one, but now it seemed like it was a bad place, bad time.

"What evers going on here, I want you to end it. Now!" I told Tye through gritted teeth.
Being the youngest in the family felt like being the oldest. In command of the young ones. I could feel the tension from each one of them. Something or someone has done something bad to make them angry like this. The wind outside started to howl furiously, I felt heat, rain started to fall, the earth started to shake. They were summoning their powers.
"Tye, Bow, Beau, Deck. Stop this NOW! I don’t want anyone to get hurt. If you want a fight I suggest you take it out some where else. I know you don’t want people to know about your abilities. So stop this madness NOW!" I whispered furiously at them.
Across the room Trevor and his group crouched down, ready to pounce. I watched in shock at their way of attacking.
It was strange and unknown in this world. I have not seen anyone fight like this, especially when they were 10 metres away from us. I mean no one can jump from that distance, can they?
The students in the area were staring at us now. Probably hoping for a fight to begin. I could feel the heat fade. "She is right you guys. It is no use. If we start now, they would all know about it. We can deal with this later" said Tye calming down a little.
The earth grew still, I could hear the rain stop, outside the wind calmed.

Across the room Trevor and his friends straightened themselves faster than any human can move. I stood there shocked but shook it away.
I could see the anger in Bows eyes. "Bow, please. I don’t want any of you guys to get hurt, or anyone else as a matter. We have dad in hospital already, I don’t want any of you guys to get hurt……or worse" I said. The boy next to Tyrone was bigger and looked stronger than Bow. He could break Beau in no sweat.

They all nodded at once, a bit calm than before. "Now can we please sit down. Everyone is staring at you."
Like robots they sat down immediately. Across the cafeteria I saw Trevor and his group sit down a few seconds after us.
I sat down hard, almost breaking the chair.
Tyrick from across the room gestured for me to go over and sit with them. Maybe he wanted to know what the fight was all about. Right now I didn’t want to sit anywhere else, I wanted to be beside my brothers to keep things in order. Instead of me going over to him and the others, I gestured to him to come over with Meyah.

He hesitated for a minute but came anyway, with Meyah right behind him. Thinking of a way to distract the guys from their anger I introduced them to Meyah and Tyrick. "Guys this is Meyah and Tyrick. Tyrick and Meyah this Tye, hes the oldest, Bow and Beau, and Decklan."
Beau seemed to cheer up a bit, "Hey Meyah. Nice to meet you. Come on have a seat. Tyrone right? Yes yes, pull up a chair next to Jess."
Tye was trying to stop himself from laughing. It was good to see them smiling again.

Decklan and Bow looked bored, Tye stared off into space lost in his thoughts. Beau and Meyah kept chatting with each other, throwing each other question after question.
I couldn’t stop thinking about Trevor. Why did they try and attack my brothers like that? Why had my brothers reacted that way. It wasn’t like them at all. It didn’t seem to make any sense. Across the room I could see the same look on Trevours face. He obviously trying to figure us out, and I trying to figure out him and his friends.

There was another look I did not see before. It looked like….fear?
"What the hell just happened you guys? Didn’t you say you wanted to keep your abilities a secret? You almost blew your cover" I whispered to Tye. He did not answer. I wasn’t sure if he was listening to me.
Bow looked like he was about to kill someone. Trying to make Tyrick feel more comfortable I started talking to him, just to clear the air.
