Torments in Life

Some of the questions racing inside my head.
Fear, questions and endless doubt
constantly torment me
and I know now that
nothing can truly be answered.

Sometimes evil lurks in my head,
'What is the purpose in life?
Can I ever be really happy
or would I be better off dead?'
and so pain remains in my mind;
hopefully in the end I lead a good life.

Just maybe hope
peace
freedom
truth
and ultimately true happiness will lie
beyond for my soul in the afterlife...

...but until that time comes
these tortures inside
will remain
until the
very
end
