Top Five Kids' Birthday Party Must Knows
When it comes to kids birthday parties being in the know what it counts the most!
Hiring an Entertainer-
The ideal approach to hiring an entertainer is to see the performer in action. If it is impossible to view the act in advance, arrange a meeting with the performer beforehand. At this time you should take note of the performer’s appearance and promptness. References are essential. A professional entertainer should be able to provide you with at least a website/brochure or video/DVD.
Piñatas and Tears – Save the tears.
Piñatas are intended to be fun – not to encourage greed, grabbing and crying over who got more candy than the others. If you absolutely must have candy why not make individual candy bags for each child instead of filling the piñata with loose candy. We suggest avoiding the sugar highs and lows altogether. Instead, fill the piñata with one bouncing ball or an inflatable toy for each child.
Goody Bags – Less is more.
We all know the contents go into the junk box or the garbage can the next day, so instead consider giving just one gift. We suggest creative props and costumes for role-playing activities, art materials, books and music as an alternative.
Party Food-When it comes to kids party food our advice would be to keep the party food simple but whimsical, in tune with the party theme.
Generally, serving cold cuts works perfectly for any children's events. Sit-down lunches are neither attractive to younger kids nor convenient for parents with young kids at a party atmosphere.
A cold cuts with cheese platter, baguettes and crackers and vegetable and fruit platters as well as salads are favorites of kids as well as grown-ups. Be aware of guests with food allergies, and special diets. (vegan, vegetarian, kosher etc.)
Be Ready for Surprizes-
It’s likely that several guests will show up who didn’t RSVP, so plan for two to three more children than you have confirmed. This way, if last minute guests show up, you’re prepared.
