All of us are constantly stressed and usually stress does not have a serious impact on our life, but sometimes it becomes to powerful and starts affecting our mind and body which could have serious consequences on our life. Find out what are the major causes of stress and try to eliminate or reduce them in order to avoid being stressed.
Most of the people are under constant pressure and suffering from stress. For some stress may have a big impact and for others the impact is not so strong. It depends on the person and the current situation the person is in. But before we continue you should know that not all stress is negative, we know positive eustress and negative type called distress.

When stress is too strong it starts affecting our behavior and may have negative consequences on our life. Therefore it is very important for us to know how we can cope with stress and what are the ways to reduce it. The longer we delay in combating the stress the bigger negative consequences it could have. First important thing is to notice and be aware of the causes of stress then we can try to reduce it.

What is the dominant cause of the stress in your life?

1.Family
Though family is a very important part of our life it could also be a big source of our stress. Between the family members there are always some disputes or arguments and that can cause a great deal of stress. Health of a family members is also a great source of stress. A child gets ill and parents get concerned, older member of the family is getting old and ill and younger members are becoming stress because of it.

2. Work
Work and employment is the basic concern of every person. One has to be employed in order to be financially independent and to support its family. Many people say that work is one of the biggest causes of stress and that the workplace can have a serious impact on their anxiety. And why are we stressed at workplace? We struggle to climb a career ladder, overwhelmed by the demands. Work conditions may change, or we may have interpersonal trouble at work. Students, especially teenagers and college age students, cite school work as a cause of stress. Sometimes, work stress is brought on by others and other times we bring it on ourselves.

3. Finances
Finances are an important part of our life and we have to be rational when spending in order to avoid financial problems. But sometimes even rational and planned spending does not help us to avoid financial problems and those situations are usually the ones when stress occurs. Most studies agree that finances are a dominant cause of stress. In an online poll conducted in 2005 by LifeCare, Inc., 23 percent of respondents named finances as the dominant cause of stress in their lives. Financial stress has led the list in many modern polls.

4. Personal Health
For most of the people this is one of the major causes of stress. The stress can rise because of our unhealthy life-style and or bad habits. Whether we are diagnosed with the serious disease or just obese there are many reasons that our health make us stressed. Personal health is more or less stressful according to the degree of seriousness and our personal outlook on health.

5. Personal Concerns
Another major cause of stress are personal concerns that are usually indirectly created by others. This includes the deep-seated desire for control over you own life and the frustration that is created because you do not have the full control and power of complete independent decisions. We have to go to work, take children to school and to their afternoon activities, then we have to go shopping and try to keep the household running.

There are so many activities and obligations we have to follow that we do not have the much needed control over our life, we cannot afford to take a break or vacation when we want but we have to adjust to our life situation.

We may be involved in legal proceedings that cause stress. We may be wrestling with a bad habit. We may be going through changes. Personal change of any kind can be a cause of stress.

So after we have gone through five major causes of stress you should think which of the causes make you stressed. There are of course several other causes and these five mentioned above are just few of the leading causes. Our stress is caused by several things and we should find out what is the source of it. Then when we find the causes we will have easier time combating stress.
