Toothache Cure
Home cures for a toothache become crucial when one's tooth is hurting like crazy and the dentist's clinic is closed for the day. This article highlights some quick cures that can salvage one from an excruciating toothache.

How to Cure a Toothache
- One of the simplest methods of relieving toothache, is chewing leaves of guava trees.
- Drink an infusion of chickweed to alleviate toothache.
- For instant numbness, the best cure is in your freezer itself. Stick the pieces of ice in a piece of clean cloth and hold it on your cheek (aching side of course!). After 20 minutes remove the pack.
- Add some powdered asafoetida into lemon juice and make a paste. Apply this paste onto the tooth.
- Another instant cure for toothache is applying few drops of vanilla extract on the hurting tooth.
- Chew cloves or rub clove oil on the painful tooth and on the surrounding gums. The numbing effect of cloves provide temporary relief.
- Chewing a piece of raw onion on the hurting tooth's side for a few minutes helps to kill the bacteria eating their way into the tooth and also relieve pain.
- To cure increased sensitivity of the tooth, mix a pinch of pepper powder into a little clove oil and apply it to the decaying tooth.
- Pour some whiskey over the aching tooth and allow the surrounding gums to be soaked in it as well. Once the gums absorb the whiskey, a numbing effect will be experienced.
- Powder an aspirin and sprinkle some of it onto the decaying tooth and allow it to dissolve there. Though this is one of the worst tasting cures for toothache, it alleviates the pain in minutes.
- Rinsing the mouth with salt water helps dislodge any food particles stuck in the tooth cavities and the empty spaces in the gums. It also reduces the soreness in the gums. Make sure you dissolve table salt in warm water and then swish it in your mouth.
- Did you know tea bags can alleviate a toothache? In a cup, place a tea bag and pour enough steaming hot water to wet the bag completely. Allow the tea bag to cool a bit and then squeeze out all the tea water. Place it onto the hurting tooth for several minutes till the pain subsides.
- One of the best sinus toothache cures is fresh cloves of garlic. Crush a clove of fresh garlic and place it onto the aching tooth till it begins to sting and then remove it. You could even add some rock salt to the crushed garlic clove to alleviate the pain.
