Too Good 4 U - Chapter 1
Karma, what is karma? Sometimes I spend days wondering the true meaning and if it is really real.
Karma, what is karma? Sometimes I spend days wondering the true meaning and if it is really real. It's a weird thing because it is pretty much what goes around comes around, yet it doesn't always happen.
Okay, it always never happens, well to me anyway. Take last Tuesday for an example, when my friend thought it was funny to throw a note at me in the middle of a math test and guess what? I apparently got 'caught cheating'. And now I have detention while my friend got a hundred percent on her test! Talk about unfair! But that's not the worst thing that happened to me yet. When I found out that I was going to move a place into a big city full of people and pollution, I wondered why life was being so cruel to me. Hey, normal people might have loved the thought of going to a bigger city if they were me, but I'm different. I love the small town because there was not much light out, so at night you can see the stars. Not one, two, or three stars in the city, I'm talking about one, two or three billion stars that glitter out at night.
I love the forest smells and the wild animals here. I guess you can say I'm pretty much part of nature and I would do anything to save it from harm, but of course I can't. I also have my few friends here even though they sometimes go annoy me a lot, but that's the point of friends. They annoy you, but most of all have fun with you. There were many things I would miss about this place, yet what I who I would miss the most would be my friends, my grandparents and Puppy, my grandparent's dog (yes his name is puppy). Puppy was a small white terrier. And yeah, I don't live with my parents because they are divorced. I had no contact with my father since I was five and my mother...well that's where I was going to. My mother finally got a sustainable job and she wants me to go to school there.
I guess I should introduce myself to you guys first. The name's Kathrin and I am turning sixteen in about two weeks, the same time that I am getting my butt over to my mom's place. A great birthday present right? Yeah I wish. I guess I shouldn't complain because life's not fair and it will never be fair for me. I would have given anything to stay, but I guess my mom's lonely by herself now and I should stop being so selfish and start thinking about others. Well I guess there might be one thing I look forward to...
It was seeing my crush again, well my crush and my bestie. He pale blue eyes, sandy blonde hair and the dimples on his face when he smiles. Before he went he gave me part of a necklace if that made sense. It was a heart that was broken in half, like those necklaces that you can clip together and can be apart as well. So I was sort of hoping to see him there.
About a week had passed since I last seen my beautiful town. I still remembered the clear skies in the morning and the stars filling the sky at night. I sighed as I took a step outside. It wasn't that my mom's apartment wasn't bad or anything, it was just that in the big city, there is too much light pollution and just pollution it's self. I could only see a few stars and the sky had always had at least one or two clouds in it. I was glad that I got puppy from my grandparents. I didn't know what to do without him. They said it was a gift for my sixteenth birthday. It was a good thing that I didn't have to go to school yet. My mom was actually nice enough to give me a week to get ready and tomorrow, unfortunately is Monday and I actually have to go to this new school. The good thing is that I still have about a good fifteen hours until tomorrow so I get to enjoy what I can. Well that is if I can enjoy a walk around the park I spotted when my mother drove me here. Maybe that is the only place I could enjoy in this city.
It was October and it was pretty cold already, I was wearing my favorite sweater, while most people would be wearing fall jackets and all that. I also had to bring puppy along with me for his usual ride. My mom doesn't really like him that much, but agreed that if I took care of him that I could keep him. I had no idea how big of a task dogs were! When I finally reached the park, I sat down until a big oak tree and watched as some of the laughing kids where running around playing tag. I left puppy to do his sniffing business, but of course I was still watching him. But I still wanted to do my own thing. It was then that I took out my art book and began to sketch the buildings that faced the park, the road, the cars and some birds that where in the sky.
Of course the moving objects where harder to do, but I had the patients. Only within five minutes, I my fingers where starting to get numb because of the how cold it was. I cupped my fingers and put it close to my mouth before I blew on it trying to get them to warm up a bit. I heard puppy give a deep growl from behind me and looked back. He was growling at a boy with messy brown hair and gem green eyes. The boy was peering over at my picture and I quickly flipped the book over before speaking. "Heel Puppy!" I yelled. Puppy whined before heeling. "I'm sorry if he caused any bother." I said looking towards the boy. It was then that I took in his whole image. He was pretty cute, but I wasn't really interested in boys as much as most girls are this time of age. The boy smiled and bent down to pat my dog, but Puppy just yelp and almost bit him. Instead of getting mad at Puppy, I sort of got mad at the boy. "Don't touch him...he doesn't like other people that much. You might get hurt." I said. The boy just shrugged before speaking. "It's just a dog besides; I don't think this frisky little dog would do much." He said. I felt angry that he said it was just a dog. It was just MY DOG.
But before I had a chance to reply, a voice shouted towards the boy. "Austin!" Yelled out another boy. As he approached, I notice his sandy blonde hair, his pale blue eyes and his small tan. Oh god...he was so hot. Wait what am I talking about? I met his eyes for a moment, but his was not the person who was warm at all. His eyes seemed slightly cold, and it seemed that when you look into it, you could actually feel it going into abyss. He was dressed in a black shirt that said 'don't mess with the best' and he was wearing loose jeans. Somehow he seemed familiar, but different in so many ways. For a moment there, I wondered if he was cold wearing only a t-shirt, but then when the boy named Austin broke the silence, I snapped out of it. "I'm coming." He grumbled before looking to me. "Are you new around here?" He asked. I nodded. "Yeah, I just moved here about a week ago." I replied. "Alright and one last question...Are you going to Credit View?" He asked once more. At first I was confused at what he said, but then I remembered that it was the school I was going to. "Yeah, I am." I said again. He smiled before speaking. "Okay, I'll see you then." And with that he walked away with the other boy.
For a moment I watched the two leave before I did as well. "Alright Puppy, let's go home." I said softly before I picked up my art book and his leash before walking home. Back at home, I had a quick dinner before I went to my room to back up my things for tomorrow. UH school... I thought it was slightly boring, but usually with my friends there, I wouldn't mine going, yet now I don't have any. It was then that I remembered about Bryce, my bestie and my crush. He was supposed to be there at school too. "Great, now I can go looking for him tomorrow." I mumbled to myself. My mom wasn't home from work yet and I knew that she was working over time or something. I felt bad for her, but I try to do all the dishes and stuff so when she comes back home, she doesn't need to do any more work. When I was done packing, I laid in bed thinking about the boys who approached me, especially that other guy who was beside Austin. It was then that my brain clicked in. Was he also Bryce? If he was wouldn't he remember me by now? It wasn't that long since I last saw him was it? I think it was like six years, so if it was him, he probably would have said something to me right? What if i bring the necklace tomorrow? I sighed, thinking about it and wondering for about a few minutes before I ended up falling asleep.
