Too Good to be True - Chapter 2!

The next day I heard three soft bangs on the door; I straightened the last piece of my hair and got up to answer it. It was Jay. My heart skipped a beat, I looked over at the clock, he was five minutes early. "You're early" I smiled. "I know" he replied. "Want to come in?" I asked politely. "Sure" he said with a childish grin on his face. I ran back up the stairs and he followed, he stepped in my room as I sat on the floor and put on my mascara. "Wow, how long are your eyelashes?!" he said in amazement. "It's called mascara" I said sarcastically laughing. "I knew that babe" and he winked at me. He called me babe and a small flutter appeared in my tummy. I picked up my bag and asked him "you ready to go?" he said "I was born ready" I laughed slightly but it wasn't funny, I remembered him going on about his girlfriend last night, I made me upset but I've only knew him a day what can I do about it?

I made some new friends today. Willow, a shy girl with brown short hair, she looked a little geeky with black 'nerd' glasses and three or so books by her side. She politely showed me to my next class with her friend Aimee, she had short pig tails and rosy cheeks. "Would you like to sit with us in maths" Willow asked. "Um, sure!" I replied half enthusiastic, also half daydreaming, staring into space thinking about Jay, a week had gone past and we walked to and from school together and my personal tutor group. He and his girlfriend were having a lot of rows and just yesterday he came round mine in tears. I think I may have fallen for him, I mean c'mon he's gorgeous! I tried to distract myself, most days, staying after school and three hour phone calls to my best friends back at Manchester. Summer was near and I couldn't wait to see them again. Mum and Dad were worrying me though, although they argued a lot before we moved they argued even more here. Dad spent most time at 'work' now.

Applying the last stroke of paint to my drawing as I spoke to Effy "hey eff' whatcha think of this?" as I picked up my painting and showed her. "Wow! That's great hun". "Thanks" I replied smiling. As I was arriving outside my close with Jay I whispered "today's gorgeous, lets lie on the grass?" "Sure babe" he replied. He called me babe... again! The butterflies reappeared and I smiled foolishly. We lay downside by side, and Jay started a heart to heart conversation. "I've gone off Sadie, I can't accept the way she has a go at me no more, I need to dump her because I like someone - someone else." "Really? Who?" "I trust you but I can't say" "um, okay" I said disappointed, I didn't notice but he asked me why I was pouting I suppose it was because I was upset, confused and all muddled up. I closed my eyes and I felt something touch my hand I opened one eye and saw Jays hand gently touching my hand, I grasped hold of his hand and held it tight.

We were there for about one hour talking and daydreaming and then I heard the bleep bleep of my blackberry curve, someone had BBM'ed me. It was Sadie I read it aloud "Summer, help! I know how close you are to Jay and can you tell him I'm not sure I'm ready to be in a relationship with him yet..." I paused and looked at Jay. "Oh Jay I'm sorry!" I said. "No no, its fine! I'm okay, it needed to happen anyway." He replied surprisingly quite cheery. He got out his blackberry and typed in Sadie's number and pressed loud-speaker. "Hello?" Sadie spoke. "Sadie, I'm upset that you dumped me but I believe that it was the right choice, I'm ready to move on and you should too" Jay spoke. "I know I feel that way too, I know this might sound slaggish, but I've liked Jake for ages would you mind if I went out with him" "No, I wouldn't mind because it's your choice now no more me and you just you and the future." I was actually so surprised of how well he was taking this.

He pressed the red 'end call' button and looked at me and showed a smile. "Jay, I have something to tell you" I whispered. "Um, okay you can tell me anything babe" he said wide eyed. There it was again, he called me babe again. "Jay ever since I've started about three weeks ago I've liked you, your gorgeous and your personality is amazing in every way. Will you go out with me?" I asked nervously blushing. "I thought you'd never ask!" he said showing the biggest smile ever. "Of course I'd go out with you babe, your beautiful!" he said. I smiled for the first time in ages. I pulled myself closer to Jay and held his hand properly.

The next day was different, I was suddenly popular but I didn't really care for how 'popular' I was. I still hung around with Effy and Jay of course. Jay came and sat with me as I was on the grass in our close. "Hey beautiful" he said looking in my eyes. "Hi gorgeous" I smiled. Lying down closing my eyes I thought about us, how much I loved him, most people will laugh because we've only being going out a day but they don't know do they? I felt a warm object next to my hand, it was Jay's hand. I held it and he rolled over and lay on top of me. "Feisty one you are" I said joking quoting The Inbetweeners. "Ain't I just babe" he said smiling.

Then he leaned forward and kissed me, it was a soft gentle kiss and I was speech-less, it was un-expected but I loved it, he leaned back in for more and he kissed me again but for longer this time. He rolled back over and held my hand again. "I love you so much Summer-May." "I love you too Jay." I looked at my watch I got up and said "I've got to go now." "Okay" he said and kissed me again.
I slowly walked across the road to my house and waved bye to Jay. I pointed to my eye, made a heart with my hands and pointed to Jay while mouthing I Love You. He did the same back.
