Tonight

Just need to vent these stupid feelings.
Tonight, I've gone astray,
walk your warm path no more.
In my hands,
I grip a white flag.
Surrendered my strength,
my trust, and my faith,
...in us.

Tonight, a weight was lifted,
from my chest,
All those things I gave up,
was my protection,
the shield to my heart,
Now at it's weakest.

Tonight, I miss you already.
Crawling back to you,
auditioning different apologies.
got so close, then
remembering why I gave up.
It all is just
shoved in my face.

Tonight, I'm on the path
to destruction.
And though my emotions
have already torn me down.
I might just be able to
fight back.
