Tongue Piercing Prices

Thinking of getting a tongue piercing done? Then you'll need to know what the tongue piercing prices are. Read the following article to know more about this subject.
Every time I see a pierced tongue, I cringe. It's like I experience the pain of a thousand pins piercing through my skin all at once. Enough to make me visibly shudder. I can safely say that it'll be a long time, if at all, till I get my tongue pierced. I'm quite happy with my nose piercing. Thank you very much. But that's not the case with my cousin, she wants to get a tongue piercing done real quick. So the other day found me rummaging through the net for more info on this subject and particularly so the subject of tongue piercing prices. Cause no way are my uncle and aunt paying for what she's about to do. So she'll need to do this on her own and for that, she'll want to know what the prices are. And what I was thinking was, since I've anyway done the research, I might as well tell you about what I found in the tongue piercing cost section so that if there's anyone out there who wants to go in for the piercing, they'll be prepared.

Preparing Yourself

Anything we do or buy is ideally done after careful consideration and taking several factors into the picture. So also is the case with tongue piercing. Make sure you really want to get it done. It's a generally accepted rule in the world of piercing and tattooing that if someone wants a piercing or tattoo really, really badly, then it is easier to deal with the pain. You see? Cause of course it is going to pain. So just make sure that you're doing it for all the right reasons.

Now to get to the point about the prices. Always choose a good quality, reputed place that maintains high standards of quality (it is not worth choosing anything less, not to mention risky). And if you choose a good place, the cost will also be more. So also, the kind of jewelry that you choose will determine the cost of the whole deal. A place that offers certain additional services like a doctor's visit etc. will charge extra. In short, no two places will have similar piercing prices. And you'll need to consider what you're willing to pay before going in for this unique piercing.

Prices

The average prices for piercing one's tongue fall in the range of $25 - $75. A lot depends not only on the factors mentioned above but also on the kind of metal that is used. A stainless steel piercing can be done for a sum as low as $25 (a lot depends on the size as well) and is more easily rejected by the body. While a titanium, white gold and gold piercing will cost much more, but they will also guarantee quality and the chance of rejection by the body is considerably reduced.

On an average, a good quality piercing from a good place can be done for $40 - $50. But don't compromise on quality for saving some money.

Checklist
  • Research the places in your area and zero in on one that is hygienic and reputed.
  • Before that though, be sure that you absolutely want one.
  • Check the prices of all the places to ensure that you're not being cheated. If you find the same services in two parlors and one is charging extra bucks, you can catch them on it or simply switch to the other one.
  • Ask as many questions as possible before the piercing.
  • There will be pain, no doubt, but how you deal with the pain - will depend on your will power and your threshold of pain. So also, take into consideration that the healing time for piercings is different for different people.
  • Make sure that you're not trying to be brave because there are chances of an infection emerging. If that is the case, you need to get it checked immediately.
  • Follow the instructions and proper after care tips that are given by the artist and doctor (if any). Do not remove the piercing or replace it before consulting the artist.
Tongue piercing prices won't really drive a hole through your pocket. So rest assured you can easily save up and get yourself one. But I would say it again, do not do anything without being absolutely convinced about it. And now if you'll excuse me, I need to accompany my cousin to the salon, where I will look the other way while she drives a hole through her tongue.
