Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes Wedding Weekend

The castle is a 15th-centurt fortress located in the Italian city Bracciano. Cruise, 44, and Holmes, 27, arrived in Rome earlier this week with their daughter Suri. It was reported that Bracciana mayor Patrizia Riccioni waived the standard $50,000 to use the castle to thank Cruise and Holmes for bringing so much attention to the town. The couple is reportedly expected to arrive at the castle on Saturday and will return to Rome immediately following the ceremony. Riccioni said, " I want to thank Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes for choosing this venue for such an important event." It was also reported that Riccioni made the two honorary citizens because "they have brought so much to out little village."

Celebrities that have reportedly been arriving in Bracciano for the nuptials include Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Leah Remini, Steven Spielberg, Kate Capshaw, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Jim Carrey, Jenny McCarthy, David and Victoria Beckham, and Brooke Shields and husband Chris Henchy. Shields and Cruise have apparently gotten over their falling out. Last year, Cruise criticized Shields for using prescription drugs to overcome her post-partum depression after giving birth to her first daughter, Rowan. Ironically, Shields and Holmes gave birth to their daughters this past April on the same day and in the same hospital. Shields welcomed baby Grier and Holmes welcomed Suri on April 18. Shields and Holmes have reportedly struck up a friendship and have been spending some time together.

The wedding has been in the works for some time now. Cruise and Holmes began dating in April 2005 and announced their engagement two-months later. Their relationship has earned a lot of press and has been the butt of many jokes, but they seem very determined to make their relationship work. We shall see if Cruise and Holmes have what it takes to make it as a couple in Hollywood or if they will be just another casualty.
