Together

A poem my sister and I wrote about two guys, yes they’re gay, and their feelings towards one another.
Holding you tightly,
And hard against my chest
My voice cooeeing in your ear,
‘Forget about the rest’

Forget about the stares,
The pointing and the sneers
Just remember that I’m here,
To wipe away your tears

Remember that I’m here,
To catch you when you fall
To help you stand again,
To stand proud and tall

When we are together,
We’re happy and we’re zealous
The others they make fun,
But I reckon their all jealous

I’ll hold you through the night,
And wake with you in the morn
You’re the first thing that I see,
And you now I will never scorn

Every single day,
I see you in new light
My arms will always hold you,
Through the long and lonely night

The days seem cold and lonely,
Like a storm that just won’t cease
But I know I’ll always have you,
So I know I will find peace

You’re my calm after the storm,
My silver lining true
No matter how bad things get,
I know I’ll always have you

Every time you smile,
You brighten up my day
So don’t listen to the others,
When they criticize our way

We go together like,
Music and lyrics in a song
And if that doesn’t work
Then a hippie and his bong,

You know I’ll always love you,
My one and only dear
Even if one sudden day,
One of us is not here
