To Take a Soul

He wanted all of her; and he was sure he would get what he needed. But what he didn't realize was 'To take a soul is to. (Read and find out!)
Feet shuffled, ears muffled.
Arms were down, eyes didn’t look around.
Legs were quick, but thin as a stick.
Throat was bare, skin was fair.
Face shielded, knife wielded.
Mouth pursed, ready to curse.

Slipped among all the girls,
From his lips a different language hurled.
Then suddenly, frozen, was the chosen.
The plunge of the knife,
Took away the remains of her life.
Screams resounded, others were astounded.

Gathered her soul, here was his true role.
Pressed into her the cold,
And from his fingertips it rolled,
Streaming into her like a frosty lake,
Covering her like icing on a cake.
He took her heart, and tore it apart,
And at last, he found her past.

Her memories did he crush,
And down the chute flushed,
A final kiss, then into eternal bliss,
Her soul fluttered and melted like butter,
Only clouds of dust remained,
And on him they rained.

That was when he stumbled,
His resolve crumbled.
His face cracked, his eyes grew slack.
His legs snapped as his arms flapped.
His body bent and his back was spent.
Death was looming close by, and it sighed.
He shrieked as his skin burned,
There was a lesson he had not learned…

"To take a soul is to give up your own."
So, what did you think?
Scary *shivers*.
Good.
Okay.
Needs improvement!
Bad.
Love the rhyming!
Good description.
Bad description.
