To Cliff – For your birthday

A poetic word says a lot...
To my university pal’
The one who pulled me through
The mayhem and madness
One heck of a guy.

For all the crazy days of our youth
When we tried so hard
To find the truth.

For all the laughter and tears
The love that was there.
All the coming years.

For all you were and are to me
May God bless
Now that you’ve reached
The middle of life’s road.

I salute you
I give my friendship to you
Be what you are
My shining star!
