To Be a Model

On the other side of things,
The grass always seems green,
Pretty flowers; eternal spring,
But things aren't what they seem.

When something seems flawless,
Perfect hair, stunning smile,
Looks hide the girl in distress,
You’d know if you watched for a while.

You’ve got such pretty eyes!
I would die for your hair!
No one cares what’s inside,
No one knows what’s really there.

Being beautiful is great,
And compliments feel so nice,
But bullies say that you’re fake,
To be pretty, you pay the price.

It’s sad that all of your darkest days,
Are spent while being idolized by fans,
Been a long time since you had a good day,
You’re never trusted to make your own plans.

To others it seems too good to be true,
How appearances can get you so far in this place,
You’re so perfect, no one cares that you’re you,
To them, you’re just a pretty face.
