Instructions to Make Pom Poms
You can say that pom poms are not just for cheerleaders anymore. Dangle them in groups of vibrant colors, sizes, and height to instantly create a livelier ambiance to any event. Besides using as decorative pieces for parties, you can also use them to jazz up your cubicle at work or place them on top of wrapped gifts, and add some oomph to your décor. Given below are simple steps on how to make the poms. You'll need:
- 9 tissue paper sheets (20 X 25 inches)
- 36 inch piece of string
- 1 chenille stem
- Thumbtack
- Scissors
Step #2: Fold all the layers together in accordion style leaving 1.5 inches wide.
Step #3: Take the chenille stem and gently wrap it around the center of the folded tissue paper. Twist it around just once.
Step #4: The 36 inch piece of string will be tied around the chenille stem by placing it under the chenille and secured into a knot.
Step #5: Keep wrapping the chenille around the tissue paper till it gets wrapped properly.
Step #6: With the scissors, trim the edges of the tissue paper in round or pointed cuts.
Step #7: Place the tissue papers on the table and gently separate each layer. Do it one by one so that you don't tear or rip the pom poms.
Step #8: Now your pom poms are ready to hang from the ceiling. Use a thumbtack to hang them.
