Tirade of An Eve Exasperated

I wrote this when I was in my early 20s - It must have been an exasperating day. ... HA HA HA
I am tired.

I am tired of being badgered
About my lusty laugh,
Loud voice,
Sleeveless blouse.

I am tired of being told
That respectable women
Do not leave the house at night
Nor allow bra straps to be seen.

I am tired of being censured
For walking too fast,
For arguing too much,
For lacking so-called femininity.

I am tired of being required
Always to be pretty,
Be pleasantly inane,
Or motherly.

I am tired of being called
Weak when I give in,
Or proud when I say no,
Even bitchy, if I insist on what I do.

I am tired of being thought
An Achilles' heel, a Waterloo,
Such that being raped or harassed
Would be my fault for bringing out
The animal in men --

I am tired of men.
Moreso of women
Who exist to please men.

I am tired of you.

Yes, definitely

It's ok, I guess
It's passable, but ho-hum
I hate it!
