Tips on How to Stop Hair Loss

Hairloss can be embarrassing. This article would help you to know how to stop hair loss.
Hair loss can be alarming, and most of the people who find themselves losing hair quickly are always eager to find possible ways to stop the hair loss.

To understand how to stop hair loss, it important to first get an understanding of the possible causes of hair loss. And among the possible causes of hair loss are things like hormonal imbalances (due to thyroid abnormalities or the changes that occur during and after pregnancy, for instance), infections (especially the fungal type) as well as the use of some medications, most notably those used in chemotherapy treatment for cancer (and for which hair loss is almost always expected), as well as certain depression, gout and nutritional medications, which can in some cases cause hair loss. Improper hair care practices can cause hair loss, as can some major diseases like diabetes. Of course, hair loss could also be because of natural baldness, which affects many people - and particularly men - for hormonal reasons.

So how can a person stop hair loss?

The way to stop hair loss will depend on the possible causes for such hair loss. If the hair loss is as a result of improper hair care practices for instance, stopping it will be much easier, as it will simply involve adopting healthier hair care practices, and giving nature time to restore the hair that you had lost due to the improper hair care practices (where common culprits include the use of too tight hair rolling, or very hot hair treatments). Similarly, if your hair loss is as a result of simple infections, such as the fungal infections earlier mentioned, then stopping it would simply be a matter of having the culprit infection medically addressed, and there are usually plenty of medications for that. If the hair loss is a result of the use of medications - like the chemotherapy drugs - you will ordinarily start experiencing normal hair growth once you are off the drug.

And if the hair loss is a result of hormonal imbalances - but the hormonal imbalance is not causing any other type of distress - you might just have to cope with the hair loss (perhaps using artificial hair replacement or wearing stylish wigs), as hair loss by itself is not usually considered a serious enough reason to opt for hormonal replacement therapy, which can be hazardous. And if your hair loss is due to natural baldness, and the hair loss is really distressing you, you might consider resorting to medications like Rogaine which are known to somewhat mitigate natural baldness, though conventional advice given is to find ways of accepting and coping with natural baldness, like for instance taking to cropping the hair for men, or wearing stylish wigs for women.
