Every night we partied and watched movies. And usually we occupied our beds while watching a movie or gossiping. One night, gang of friends and me were on my bed exchanging some hilarious talks with a pitcher of cold drink placed between us. The fiber beds being soft, the pitcher was already shaky and with the spurt of our laughter, the entire cold drink was on my bed. Yuck! I shared the bed with one of my friends that night but, something had to be done to get the bed back in its normal condition. That's when I learned to wash the fiber bed. And I am going to be sharing all those tips in this Buzzle article.

Simple Tips for Washing a Fiber Bed
Fiber beds are made of a material similar to sponge, therefore it has the tendency to soak water and soap. So, you have to be careful. Firstly, clean the bed using a duster or a vacuum cleaner. This will make your washing process easy.
Wash the mattress in cold or medium temperature water, using a mild detergent or bleach. Apply the soap or mild detergent using a sponge on the surface of the mattress. Do not use a brush, as that can damage the texture of the bed. In case you plan for a machine wash, make sure you keep it going on a gentle cycle.
In case of stains, clean them immediately before they seep in too much. Blood stains can be washed by holding the mattress under cold water before washing. You get rid of the oil stains by treating the stains with a cup of vinegar or rub some baking soda over the stain.
Then comes the important part, once your done with using the soap, it is time to rinse the bed. Go in for an extra rinse cycle just to make sure the soap gets out of the fiber bed. You can check so by running your fingers over the wet surface of the bed and if it gives you that slippery effect; the bed needs to be rinsed again.
Another important aspect of washing the fiber bed is drying it correctly. Fiber beds have the natural tendency to soak moisture, therefore you have to make sure you dry it properly. In case you are using a dyer, keep it going until it is completely dried. If you plan to air dry it, hang it in a place where the sun is shining brightly or where there is open air circulation.
If the bed is not dried properly, it will emit an awful odor. And if the detergent or soap stays back, you would have to scratch your body all night. So, be very careful that you avoid these problems. If you think you can't manage to do all this and sure about messing up things. Laundry or dry cleaning the fiber bed should help you, but you just have shell out some dollars to get the work done.
Keep your bed clean and do not forget decorating it with clean sheets. Just cuddle in then and get that pampered peaceful sleep!
