Frank Sinatra, a very popular American singer as well as an award-winning actor has had a large fan following till date. He has several acclaimed albums to his credit. His romantic tracks caused quite a flutter in the hearts of millions of young girls all over. Here is the timeline of this legendary singer and actor, which records many important events in his life.
1915: Francis Albert Sinatra, popularly known as Frank Sinatra was born on December 12, 1915.
1935: This year records his earliest paying jobs. This was his first break at the Hoboken Union Club. He joined hands with another singing group called The Three Flashes. They later renamed themselves as the Hoboken Four. This was the time when they appeared on a show as well called the Major Bowes Amateur Hour which won then a six month contract to perform live on stage as well as radio.
Later on he left the Hoboken Four the same year and it was his mother who ensured he had a job as a singing waiter at the Rustic Cabin in New Jersey.
1939: This year marks his first recording which was done in coordination with the Frank Mane band. The song was titled Our Love. He also secured a contract for one year.
Later on that year, he was approached by Tommy Dorsey to join his band.
1940: He joined the Dorsey's band. This was also the time when he debuted in the film, Las Vegas nights.
1941: This year, in the month of May, he reached the top position of the male singer polls in magazines such as Billboard and Downbeat.
1942: This year, he recorded his first solo tracks in the month of January. He left the Dorsey band during the later half of the year. The craze for Frank Sinatra is known to have begun in the month of December when he opened at the Paramount theater, which was in New York.
