Time Unseen
I wrote this poem for a friend who wanted something dramatic and a little on the morbid side. It came out okay in my opinion and they were pleased with it. It pretty much sums up an opinion of the end of the world or perhaps an age.
Step into these Hallowed Halls
Before the mind reveal them all
Bring forth the memories of the Fall
Listen to screams rent the air
Mothers and children lost in despair
For bodies that fester in a land laid bare
Mourn the peace that few sought
Murdered before the sin of what they wrought
Evil born of pride and hateful thought
Man against nature and nature against man
Both fated to meet their timeless end
Before a poison wielded by hand
Man against Man cold of heart
By thought and action are torn apart
Compassion lost from the start
Before the mind reveal them all
Bring forth the memories of the Fall
Listen to screams rent the air
Mothers and children lost in despair
For bodies that fester in a land laid bare
Mourn the peace that few sought
Murdered before the sin of what they wrought
Evil born of pride and hateful thought
Man against nature and nature against man
Both fated to meet their timeless end
Before a poison wielded by hand
Man against Man cold of heart
By thought and action are torn apart
Compassion lost from the start
