Tim McGraw’s Record Label Churns Out Greatest Hits Album #3
Tim McGraw has expressed his frustration with Curb Records after the record label released a third greatest hits album, just one release removed from the country crooner’s last hits release.
In a real shocker of a story, country musician Tim McGraw’s record label, Curb Records, recently released a "greatest hits" album, just one studio record removed from his LAST greatest hits album. Nothing against McGraw, but it used to be that artists compiled a whole bunch of great music prior to releasing even ONE greatest hits album. I can’t say for certain how many studio sessions the man has completed, but I’m guessing that McGraw studio albums vs. McGraw greatest hits releases are running neck and neck at this point. McGraw, for his part, wanted none of this. According to the leather-hat wearing would-be cowboy, "I am saddened and disappointed that my label chose to put out another hits album instead of new music. I’ve only had one studio album since my last hits package. It has to be just as confusing to the fans as it is to me."
And in this corner…the greedy music exec: According to Curb Executive Vice President and General Manager Dennis Hannon, he had "numerous conversations" with McGraw about the album. A Curb Records executive went on to say that "We are going to work hard to try to take the current single ‘Let it Go’ to No. 1 in hopes that the economic climate is improving and that sales will also improve." He then went on to say "blah, blah, blah, give me all your money, blah, blah, stop downloading pirated music because if you do you’ll go straight to hell because it’s the worst thing that you could possibly do and it makes you an evil human being, blah, blah, blah." Well, he didn’t really say that last part, but you KNOW he was thinking it, right?
