Tiger Woods Fined, Will Not Face Criminal Charges
Tiger Woods, arguably the world's greatest golfer, was in a car crash, which led him to being fined for careless driving...

However, tabloids went ga-ga with the incident, and insinuated that the couple [Woods and his wife] were in an argument just before the crash. Having occurred at 2.15 in the morning, the tabloids were quick to jump to the conclusion that Woods had an argument with his wife and was leaving the house when the accident occurred. Some tabloids even went on to speculate that the injures suffered by Woods were the result of him being beaten up by his wife. However, a Florida Highway Patrol Sergeant, after an investigation, confirmed that there were no signs of domestic violence involved. After a thorough investigation, it was confirmed that the golfer was not driving under the influence, and was not in any fight, domestic or otherwise, before the crash. Police have also concluded that there was no need for further investigation, and in fact, there was no evidence for them to pursue the case further.
With the $164 fine for careless driving, and 4 points docked against his driving license, the accident case has been closed, bringing much-needed relief to Tiger Woods and his family. However, the media have not given up as easily as the police, and rumors continue to fly about the famous golfer and his life. With the rumors ranging from a 31-month affair with a waitress, to a theory about him being beaten up by his wife, the press are indeed having a field day with this incident, albeit at the expense of Woods. Tiger Woods, in an attempt to keep media speculation low, refused appointments with law enforcement officials after the crash, providing only as much information and documentation as was required by Florida law. This, however, resulted in even more allegations and speculation regarding the celebrity's private life.
One of the greatest golfers of his generation, Tiger Woods has also withdrawn from his own tournament, which he has hosted for 9 years, ostensibly due to the injuries suffered in the crash. With the media and tabloids adding insult to injury, one hopes that minor things like these do not get blown out of proportion, adding to the grief and pain of the family.
