Tiger Woods: Baby #2

Woods, 32, announced the news on his personal website when he wrote, "This has been a year of contrasts. I had a solid start to the season, won the U.S. Open in an exciting playoff, and then unfortunately had to shut it down after successful knee surgery. And now, I have some wonderful news to report. Sam is going to be a big sister." Woods and Nordegren welcomed daughter Sam Alexis in June 2007. Woods added, "Elin is feeling great and we are both thrilled. While my injury has been disappointing and frustrating, it has allowed me to spend a lot of time watching Sam grow. I can’t begin to tell you how rewarding it is being a dad and spending time with her and Elin." He called his injury both a "blessing" and a "disappointment." The baby is due in late winter.

Woods and 28-year old Nordegren, a Swedish model, were introduced in 2001 at the Open Championship. At the time Nordegren was working as an au pair for Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik and he introduced the two. The couple was engaged in 2003 and was married in October 2004 in Barbados. They currently own homes in Florida, California, Sweden, and Jackson, Wyoming.

Daughter Sam was born in June 2007. A few weeks after she was born Woods said in a press conference, "It’s been fantastic these last couple weeks to have Sam Alexis as part of our life." He added, "It was a dream come true for both Elin and myself. I’ve been changing diapers and doing feedings. I definitely don’t sleep in now." Woods has also said that he would like to have more than one child> He grew up as an only child and Nordegren has a twin sister.
