Although it has been widely reported that Tiger Woods has been dating recently-injured Olympian Lindsey Vonn, he spent time over the weekend with Elin Nordegren and their kids in Florida. TMZ acquired photos of the former couple as they attended a youth sporting league event in support of one of their children. Woods arrived with the children about an hour before Nordegren showed up and the pair reportedly spoke cordially for roughly 30 minutes before taking seats to watch the action. Eventually, after onlookers became too aggressive - and camera phones were everywhere - both Nordegren and Woods packed up and left together in her vehicle.
It’s not all that surprising that Woods and Nordegren would reunite to support their kids, even with the extenuating circumstances surrounding their split. Surely, Nordegren was justifiably embittered by the chain of events that led to the demise of their marriage. But they reached a financial arrangement that ensures Nordegren an elite lifestyle for herself, her children and likely her extended family as well. And because of the fact that all the blame falls squarely on Woods, it’s probably easier for both of them to move past the hurt feelings.
That said, it’s still probably awkward for the two to act normally in each other’s presence, but that’s what good parents are forced to do when their marriages end abruptly. Their time together over the weekend was certainly not planned in advance, as Woods likely hoped to be playing into the weekend at the Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona. Instead, he was upset in the first round of the tournament and thus had his weekend free to join his kids and ex-wife in Florida.
