The Ticket

The Ticket is about a poor boy who has the opportunity to spend Christmas in a modern world; a rich world in comparison to his own.
Tears of gratitude
Filled saddened eyes.
The little boy was
So surprised.

He opened the mail.
And there it was!
A plane ticket -
Caused a buzz.

He packed his bag
With Mama's aid.
And, oh the plans
His mind made!

In the airplane
He was amazed;
His fingers to the
Window grazed.

Then he landed -
And saw the one
Who sent the gift;
Came undone.

The plans he made :
Soon forgotten.
He ran to her -
Hugged cotton.

The Christmas tree
Was everything
He could've dreamed -
Tears did sting.

Then underneath
The tree he saw
A gift for him -
Slackened jaw.

T'was then he smiled
Eyes filled with glee
He reached down on
Bended knee...
