Words too strong for my weak heart

Words my heart wished I could say

With no doubt to how I feel

My heart wishes it could love you with all its entirety

But something, somewhere inside

Told me that I couldn't say those words

I don't think it was a lack of courage to try

But rather the lack of feeling at all

I wasn't going to tell you lies

At some of the things you said

I wished my eyes would let me cry

But over our four hour conversation

I had shed only three tears

One for my mother's broken heart months ago

One for breaking your heart

And one for your words that cut me

Those words were the ones

About you're never going to try to love again

About you're never going to be happy

About you're going to quit your dream band

About quitting on life

Those words had cut me deeper
than anything else.
