Three Part Guide to House Hunting

When you are getting ready to purchase a new home, your realtor may give you some different ones to look at and decide upon. When you're searching you will probably be given homes that have come from the MLS. There are a few things that you want to be sure and look for and make a note of when you view homes for sale. Here is some more information.
Bring a Paper and Pen –

You want to bring something so that you can take notes about the different houses that you view, as well as some other important information. This will make it easier to refer to later so that you don't become confused about which house contained these features or these disadvantages. If possible, bring a camera with you and take pictures as you walk through the homes. You can attach these to your notes later if need be, and the pictures will help you remember certain things that you may forget without them.

Write it Down –

So, you're looking through some homes that came from the MLS and you notice that one of them has some slight damage to the exterior siding. These are the kinds of things that you want to write down in order to remember it later. You may also want to take a picture of the damage so that you will be clear minded later when thinking over your choices. Another thing that you want to write down is the particular amenities that are within each house. If one home has absolutely gorgeous walk-in closets and this is a big thing for you, write it down. This will keep the home fresh in your mind and you can think clearly about it later. Make a note of anything that you would want to remember and that might have an effect on the decision that you make. Then, when you have documentation about the different MLS homes that you like, you can make a more informed decision later.

Ask Questions –

If you see damage in a particular home, you should ask your real estate agent who is responsible for fixing it. Often times, the home owner may fix something before you purchase the home and other times, it will be up to you. When you have the real estate agent's answer, you can make a note of this as well as it may effect your decision to purchase the home.

Whether you're searching for a home it's important that you follow the tips and tricks above as it will make the narrowing down process and the actual selection process go more easily and faster.
