This Is What Love Means
Another simple love poem written in collaboration with my good friend Angie.

Will he capture what I see?
If the poet writes a sonnet,
Will his words capture your dreams?
If the minstrel sings a love song,
Will his melody be sweet?
Will their accumulated artistry
Show what you mean to me?
I held a breath of nature
Within my open palms,
That wondrous gift just lingered there,
It felt so warm and calm,
Soft to touch and silky smooth,
On a gentle breeze it swam,
Within a silent sigh, I swear,
I heard it whisper your name.
Within a shimmer of summer rain,
I saw your face reflect,
Like an angel's silhouette,
That made my heart detect,
A glint of love that lingered there,
A love I did respect,
That held such beauty within,
It's awesome retrospect.
A sweet smell of summer rose
Did linger in the air,
I plucked it's soft sweet petals,
To sprinkle in your hair.
When you smiled, giggled and turned to me,
I knew that it would happen,
And you didn't disappoint me,
As I wallowed your passion.
Within a memory of romance,
Of a sweet, soft tender kiss,
Upon a breath of pillowed luxury,
The warm caress from your lips,
My emotions ran away with me,
To be lost inside your dream,
Among the feelings that we always shared,
I found out just what love means.
