They Called Me

They called me names in school
They called me names in high school
They called me names in college
They called me names when I was an adult

I tried to be their friends in school
I looked away in high school
I cried out in college
I forgave them all as an adult

I hated my school years
I hated my high school time
I did not enjoy college
And I never made it to full adulthood either.
