These Infertility Statistics Might Be Encouraging

For couples married several years and still waiting for first pregnancy, it could be really frustrating and disappointing; more so if you are thinking that it is only you as a couple who are in this situation. In the US alone, the record shows that there are more than 7 million women, including those teenage girls who are going to be wives someday, who face this problem. Some of them are still unaware that this is the situation they will face in the future, while some of them are already grieving because of this fact. Moreover, the percentage for the women within the age of 30 to 34 with infertility cases seeking treatment is noticeably increased, perhaps because more of them are determined to have kids and that their age is not so old as to make them give up on achieving pregnancy. But based on records, women within the age group of 29 and below are not as likely to seek treatment.

Fertility treatments are often very helpful to the couple having difficulty in conceiving a child. There may not be no exact records of how many have acquired the help of fertility treatments and succeed but we can be sure that these minor to moderate cases have a higher percentage of success. The treatments could be the IVF or the in vitro fertilization, medications, hormone balancing, and simple charting of ovulation, plus the egg donation as another answer for fertility.

This success rate tends to become lower as the age of women goes up. The success rate is reduced to 22% for women at 39 years of age and 10% when the age is 40. It only shows that, if the couple is having difficulty in fertilization, it would give them higher rate of fertility success if they will seek help or treatments as early as possible.

But in some cases wherein the woman is around 40 years old or above and planning to have successful pregnancy, the best suggestion may be the egg-donor option, as this has a 45% success rate. The bottom line is that there are many others who deal with this problem, and there is a good chance for success with the right treatment.
