Death

A poem about death and what lies beyond.
Is death the end, or just the beginning?
A journey we take, but no longer alone.
Do we walk among angels, or just friends and family?
Are we welcomed and cared for, by persons unknown.

Do we meet our creator, the lord God almighty?
Do we bow down before him, giving thanks for our life?
Will he say you’re forgiven, hold nothing against us.
Will he heal all our wounds, cut deep with a knife?

If death is the end, with nothing beyond it.
Then why are we here, what purpose to serve.
I’d love to believe it, give thanks to our maker.
Continue my journey, with vigor and verve.

If death is the end, and not the beginning.
Then our journey is over, may we just rest in peace.
