These principals can be used whether you practice Pilates on the mat or if you use a aero pilates machine. Let's look at these principals and how they can help your Pilates practice.

1. Breathing
Proper breathing is one of the most important things with Pilates practice and also with any other exercise. Make sure that you breathe correctly during your Pilates workout. You should exhale on the exertions phase and inhale on the release of the exercise.

2. Centering
This is one of the most basic principal of Pilates, namely centering. You should make sure that every move originates from your center (your core). This is the area of your lower back, abs and hip flexors. Keep those muscles intact during your practice and make sure that every move comes form there.

3. Concentration
This principal will help you to get the next 2 principals right to and will also make them easier to achieve. You should always concentrate fully on your movements and keep and intense focus. This will help you to get the precision and efficiency right.
4. Control
This principal is all about muscle control and movement. To get it right, make sure that you conduct proper muscle control and that you don't jerk your muscle around.

5. Precision
You should aim to move with a precise and perfect movement while conducting your Pilates moves. This will come with a bit of practice, so don't give up and just practice every day.

6. Flow and efficiency of movements
This principal implies that the movements should be done fluently one after the other and that they should also flow into another with precision and efficiency. This again will take some practice, so practice practice, practice
