The Wrong Side of the Track Ch.7

Just being there speeding down the street holding on to him made me feel better. I had no idea where we were going but I didn’t really care. We had speed down the streets for about 20 minutes until we stopped.

"We’re here" he said

I took the helmet off and looked around we were at a small creek it was beautiful there were tall trees surrounding it. The creek was still and quite no one was here except me and Marcus. I looked around to see if I recognized any of the roads but nothing looked familiar.

"Where are we" I asked
"Capeside creek it’s about 10 minutes of town"
"Oh it’s beautiful"

We started to walk around the bank of the creek.

"Yeah I come here when I need to clear my head"
"I see why it’s so quite and peaceful"
"Yeah, you looked like you needed a moment away"
"Yeah I did thank you"
"no problem as long as your okay"
"I am now … can I ask you a question"
"Shoot"
"Why do you care?"
"About what"
"Me, I mean you helped me with tony, you tried to help me when I was crying why do you care"
"Honestly…. Its because you remind me of my mom not just cause your white either but cause you have her fire in you , you have that same fighter attitude your sensitive but you stand strong just like she did" he told me
"Why the past tense"
"She’s dead"
"Oh, I’m sorry so you live with your dad"
"Nah, that nigga is the reason my moms is dead" he said kind angry
"Oh sorry I didn’t mean to upset you"
"Its okay you didn’t it’s just the thought of his black ass upsets me"
"Oh so your black and white"
"Yeah, and you asked a whole lot more than a question"
"Ha-ha sorry"
"you apologize a lot, so now it’s your turn"
"My turn for what"
"To be interrogated" he said with a cute smirk on her face
"Oh ok shoot"
"Ha-ha so the reason you was crying back there did it have anything to do with that tony guy"
"Uh yeah"
"Ok do you wanna talk about it now?"
"He’s my ex"
"so he’s upset that you broke up with him"
"Actually he broke up with me"
"Ah now I see why he’s so angry"
"Oh really and why is that"
"He regrets breaking up with a girl like you"

My heart skipped a beat it was the perfect thing to say.

"Nah I don’t think that’s it" I said
"Then what is it"
"Well the other day in the office when he grabbed me he was upset about how I dealt with the break up"
"And how did you deal"
"I charged 1,500 dollars to his card"
"Damn shawty"
"ha-ha I was a little bitter"
"Okay that explains his anger but what about your fear"
"What Fear?"
"Like I said you remind me of my mom and she always got that same look on her face she looked tough in the face but in her eyes there was so much fear" he said in a sad voice
"Oh" I shyly said
"so why were you so afraid of him"

I don’t know why I told him I just felt like I could trust him and he was there for me.

"Because he use to hit me only a couple of times but he always apologized and bring me a beautiful gift."

"Why you’re more like my mom than I thought"
"How so"
"Cause all it took was little gift to make ya’ll forgive the man who treated you wrong"
"No, I didn’t care about those gifts I forgave him cause he said he was gonna stop and change"
"So what about today"
"What"
"What did he do today?"
"He told me I never loved him which really upset me because I gave my all to him"

I started to cry again and Marcus held me in his arms again I stopped crying after a minute or so.

"Im sorry"
"Its okay I don’t mind holding you"

We walked along the creek for a few minutes quietly until Marcus sat on the sand and pulled me down to the sand.

"So can I ask you one last question?"
"Yeah"
"Do you still love him?"
