The Wrong Side of the Track Ch. 17

After Marcus tells her he loves her...
I stared into his eyes his forehead pressed against mine.
"Well that works out" I said
"And why is that" he asked
"Because I love you too"

He kissed my forehead then his soft warm lips met mine, just by the way he kissed me I could tell his love was sincere.

"Come on lets go back to the party"
"Alright"

He intertwined his hand in mine and we walked back into the raging party. The rest of the party went great Janelle, Marcus, and I all had a blast. When Janelle opened the present I got her she jokingly declared me her new best friend. The two girls still tried their best get Marcus from me but he ignored them and so did I. Ever since we told each other I love you we couldn’t keep our hands off each other even through the party especially on the dance floor. It was as if we had to be touching like our flesh was attracted to each other. When the party ended we just stood outside for a while holding hands.

"You ready to go home" Marcus said as he gave me a little kiss
"I guess" I replied as I kissed him back
"You guess" he said in a questioning tone as he wrapped his arms around my waist as we walked to the car. I leaned against the car as he proceeded to kiss my lips and down to my neck.
"Oh yeah I’m ready to go home" I said in the sexiest voice I could
We got in the car and again my flesh found his, my hand was gently placed at the back of his neck. My hand eventually found its way to his thigh and he gently placed his hand on my thigh giving it a light squeeze. I had never wanted anyone as much as I wanted Marcus right now. When we got to my house he walked me to my door and we again started making out in a lustful rage. I tried to get the key into the door but I didn’t want to turn away from him. I soon felt the door I was using as support move from behind me. Next thing I knew me and Marcus was on the ground him on top of me. He rolled off me and we broke out in hysterical laughter. Until I opened my eyes and saw a scornful look on my mother’s face and next her father stood with a confused look. I guess Marcus saw what I saw because his laughter abruptly stopped as well. Marcus stood up and helped me off the floor.

"Mom, dad what are-"
"What are you doing" snapped my mother

I looked around the room my mom’s usually wrinkle free face had more wrinkles than I could count. She always looked old when she got angry my dad still looked confused. Derek had a sympathetic look on his face his parents stood and watched on in awe.

"Did you hear me young lady" my mom snapped again
"I was at a party "I replied instantly
"And who is this" she pointed at Marcus
"This is Marcus he’s my-"I hesitated
"I’m her friend" Marcus said as he extended his hand for her to shake but she ignored it
"And what are you doing with my daughter"
"I just brought her home ma’am"
"And a goodnight kiss comes with a ride home these days"
"mom, stop Marcus didn’t do anything wrong he was being nice"
"Nice! By putting you in such a compromising position"
"He didn’t mom what’s your deal you’ve seen me kiss guys before and you let go to parties all the time"
"I’m just disappointed in you"
"mom-"
"No excuse me" she said as she left the room
"Sweetheart why don’t you say goodnight to your friend"

I told Marcus goodnight and everyone departed from the living room to their designated rooms. I was only in my room 20 minutes when Derek came in.

"How you doing" he asked
"I’m okay I just can’t believe she blew up like that"
"I don’t get it either" he laid down next to me on my bed
"What are they doing home?"
"They came for your birthday tomorrow they going back on vacation Saturday morning"
"Ugh I can’t believe that happened and she said she was disappointed in me"
"I know I that’s so much worse than I’m upset or angry"
"Thanks you’re a big help" I said as I nudged him
"It’ll be okay "he said as he gave me a kiss on the forehead and got out of the bed
"Yeah I guess"
"Well im gonna call jasmine we ended the night on a sour note so…"
"What Happened?"
"Tell you later goodnight"
"Night"

I lay staring at the ceiling thinking about how such a magical night could end so horrible. I think I stare at the ceiling for about a hour before my mom came in.

"Audrey can I come in"

"Sure" she walked over and sat on the end of my bed

"honey im sorry I yelled at you but I don’t want you to get a bad reputation just hooking up with random guys from parties and he was"

My mom’s not extremely old but she sounds it when she attempts to use hip words like "hooking up"

"He was what mom"

"Then who was he"

"He goes to my school and he’s my boyfriend"

"Your what- honey when did - what about-"

"Mom, finish a sentence"

"When did this happen"

"Ugh tonight"

"Honey just because someone kisses you and calls you beautiful doesn’t mean you have to date them"

"Mom it’s not like that I’ve been seeing him for a while we just made it official tonight"

My mom stared at me with a questionable look on her face as if what I said meant something she didn’t want to even let cross her mind.

"But what happened to that nice boy you were seeing what was his name tony"

"Mom let’s not get into that me and tony are over"

"Honey love is a funny thing did you try working things out"

Just the suggestion of going back to him made me cry. My mother stared at me like she had no idea what to do. So I broke down and told her about how tony use to abuse me. That’s when it happened something I never thought possible……..

"Honey maybe he’s changed a few heated arguments doesn’t change the fact that he love’s you"

…….. I lost respect for my mother in that one sentence.

"What did you say?"

"Listen honey im sure he’s sorry there’s no reason to overreact and go run off with some hooligan"

"He’s not a hooligan he’s a great guy, and he treats me like the most important person in the world and …….. I love him"

At those three words those eights letters my mom’s face churned into disgust.
"Honey I’m just trying to say he’s not our kind of people and we have to keep up a certain image and his kind of people don’t fit in that image"

"His kind of people mom really what kind of people is that"

"No it’s not like that honey I’m trying to say he might not be the right company to keep, as the saying goes you’re judged by the company you keep"

"And what company is that honest, sweet, caring because that’s what Marcus is and I don’t know about you but that’s the kind of company I wanna keep"
My mom got upset and stormed out of my room again I laid there staring at the ceiling.
