The Wrong Girl - Chapter 9 The Universe

The final third try! Will it work??
Aaron waited outside the ... umm some class that obviously Elena was attending. And once again Aaron felt stupid because it had been 15 minutes since he'd been standing there. People kept staring at him weird. This was his third try, and he was so damn nervous.

'What the hell is going on in that class?' Aaron thought.

He was right to be paranoid; the class was running unusually long. It was like the professor had forgotten about all the other classes the students were supposed to attend.

A guy casually sitting on the lower wall smiled at him and showed his wrist to indicate the time.

'He must've been watching me the whole time. Like he had nothing better to do... idiot' Aaron thought.

Aaron took a long breath in. He couldn't afford to be anxious, paranoid, angry or nervous. This had to go smoothly. He couldn't mess this up because of some lame guy who was still staring at him.

'Maybe he's waiting for someone too...'

Twenty minutes... twenty five minutes....

'What the hell!!'

This wasn't part of the plan. He wasn't supposed to look desperate stalker type, he was supposed to look casual passerby strolling around the building. Great! Just simply great!

After two blow outs Nina had counted herself out from the Aaron-going on a date with Elena plan, so he was damn alone in it. Being alone wasn't such a big deal for him, he knew his game.

He knew how to ask a girl out, he was experienced, but the problem was the universe itself, Aaron decided.

For him, it seemed like the whole universe worked against him when it came to him asking out Elena. It was like the universe didn't want him to get close to Elena.

"Screw you universe" Aaron sighed.

The guy staring at him made a weird face and moved swiftly away to the direction the crowd was moving towards. Wait what? The crowd?

"Shit!"

Aaron missed it again. The class was over and Elena was nowhere in sight. Aaron jumped to the empty space that staring guy left and looked for Elena.

The crowd was heavy but Aaron could no way in hell miss the long brown silky hair-that-most-probably-smelled-like-vanilla belonging to Elena.

He jumped down as swiftly as he jumped up and moved through the crowd to get to the girl now moving so close to the door that opened to yet another never-ending class.

Aaron was desperate beyond the limits. This was his last chance, he needed it!

He reached Elena and moved ahead of her and turned back in one slick movement blocking Elena's way to class.

Trying not to look desperate was long out the window, now the plan was just to get her to a decent cafe and show her the magic of Aaron.

Elena didn't notice Aaron blocking her; she tried going the other way round but just like told before Aaron was desperate. He blocked her way. About thirty seconds later, Elena realized someone was intentionally blocking her way and finally decided to look at the culprit.

"hi" Aaron said feeling his hand on the wall turn ice-cold.

"Can I help you Aaron?" Elena said looking a little confused and a lot annoyed.

'She knows my name!' was the first reaction in his head.

"Actually yes you can..." Aaron said trying to look cool but he so wasn't cool.

He could hear the blood pumping like a tick-tock of the clock in his ears. His heart was beating faster every growing second.

"Okay... how can I help you?" Elena said as if she was in a hurry to get to her next class.

"I don't have any other class right now... and Nina's sorta beef with me. So I was wondering if you could hang out with me... you know like skip the next, whatever class it is" he said pointing toward the door to his backside with his thumb.

'Wow... that went smoothly' Aaron thought.

Aaron was lying... he had a very important class right at the moment. It was like one of the most important one on his schedule... but screw it.

He knew it was working because Elena's face turned up into a light smile.

"I'm sorry Aaron but I really have to attend "this" class..." Elena said as she dodged her way out and got inside the door.

'WHAT!" Aaron felt like he had been slapped.

He swore he could hear the universe laughing at him. oh wait... it wasn't the universe laughing at him. it was the same guy who was staring at him before that was laughing at him.

Aaron turned around to call for Elena... do something to fix it up even though he wasn't sure what had actually went wrong there but whatever it was he needed to fix it.

But the world fell off its orbit and Aaron jumped into a pool full of remorse when he saw huge blue signboard of "LADIES"

"Did you just call ladies loo a class?" that guy came and tapped Aaron's shoulder.

"Tough luck... tough guy" he said and went on his way laughing.

'Damn it!' Aaron thought as he decided the universe really didn't want him together with Elena.

"Actually universe hates me!" Aaron said out loud earning a few weird-out glances from people around him.

This was strike three... Aaron's chance was gone unless Elena herself wanted to talk to him. But that's just talking insanity... why would the sad little hottie wanna talk to a despo like him?

Aaron would've hit his head but he didn't want to look more stupid than he already had looked today. He just silently hoped Elena someday out of curiosity would want to talk to him.

That was the new plan!
