The Wrong Girl - Chapter 3 He Should Be Here
Picture of Elena....

"Miss Elena Parker! You're gonna be late for your first day at college and thanks to you even I'm gonna be late!"
Elena got spanked on her butt like her mom used to spank her when she was four. Elena was still too lazy to care about the little pain left on her butt.
"Ely! Wake up! I'm preparing the damn breakfast! You've got to be ready when I come back there again!"
The voice sounded distant but the bossy, commanding edge to the voice hadn't left. Elena suddenly jerked off the bed and finally realized Nina wasn't shouting through her voice mail like usual but she was actually inside her apartment.
Nina was actually in her apartment and she had actually spanked her!
"I knew it was a bad idea handing that security number to her" she complained silently.
Elena rubbed her tired sore eyes, the new habit of crying herself to sleep was difficult to let go, and slowly started to get off bed.
Nina showed up at her bedroom door scrambling what seemed like three eggs and from the look in Nina's face she seemed almost too ready to scramble Elena as well only if she hadn't gotten up. Nina's face turned a little gentler as she said, "good! Now go clean yourself up and I'll make breakfast"
The bossy tone was still too evident to find that remark sweet.
Elena didn't bother to protest just as Nina didn't bother to say anything further.
After a long shower of about 45 minutes, Elena came out wearing a simple white blouse and an old pair of favorite jeans. Ely was expecting to get a verbal thrash when she got out groggily but instead she was welcomed with a sweet and gentle Nina as if she wasn't late at all.
Elena quietly sat down at her chair and started ogling up the breakfast. Nina started eating too. The whole charade felt odd and simply weird to Ely.
"I don't understand.... I thought... we were running late" Ely said between her huge bites of omelets.
She couldn't help it; Nina was a really good cook.
"Stop talking while you eat... you need to eat properly you look so damn bony Ely!" Nina ordered.
That wasn't the first time Nina had commented on her recent weight loss in the past two days. Nina hated Elena for skipping food and not taking care of that perfect curve as she mentioned it. Elena didn't mind being called 'bony' at the moment as long as she was eating the awesome breakfast made by Nina.
"Look at the watch, it's hardly 8! I just wanted to feed my little Ely before we left for college" Nina sighed as she finally let the secret out!
Elena's face fell with utter shock but still she had no words to say, after all it was just like Nina. Elena just shook her head in her helplessness.
Even though Elena gulped the breakfast down without any objection, she was still nervous, anxious and sad and still the same tragedy struck teenager that she was three days, hell three weeks ago. For Elena things hadn't gone better, it was still the same... if she allowed herself to see, it was worse. She was simply lost, she had no idea if she were to move on from the only guy she ever fell in love with, the only guy who ever made her feel loved, the only guy who always truly understood her and made her fall in love a million times in a single day over the past years. Or was she to hold on to him and believe on the guy who left her on the altar? What was she to do?
She really was lost...
Nina drove Elena to the university in utter silence. Even Nina knew Elena wasn't ready to face the world alone just now, Nina knew and she could feel the nervousness that Ely was feeling at the moment because Evan wasn't by her side. But Nina knew Elena just as much as she knew herself and she knew if only Elena made up her mind she could do anything she wanted.
Even if she knew Elena wasn't alone but she still couldn't subside that feeling as if something was missing.
Evan never missed such an important day. He should be here...
he should be here
"Nina"
"Elena"
They spoke at the same time, feeling the same uneasiness together.
They both smiled but Elena continued.
"Nina... I miss Evan... I don't like this feeling at all. Evan should be here... this is as much as his day as much as it is mine and... this just feels wrong without him... I don't want to do this without him. Let's just go back"
Even though Elena was trying hard to fight back, that damn tear fell off her cheek and there was nothing she could do.
"You can't turn back now Ely... if Evan could be here I'm sure he would have come." Nina ended the discussion.
Elena repeated a thousand times in her mind as she sulked in her seat....
He shouldn't miss this day... He should be here
