The Wrong Girl - Chapter 18: Confusion...

A twist coming your way...
Aaron woke up with serious hangover that morning. He had a strong liquor tolerance, but the previous night, he went a little overboard, everyone had. It was like everyone had found a reason to drink, to get away from the painful truth even though it was just for a night, just for a moment. And they had done just that, they forgot the world for a second there and got into a world where nothing existed beyond the music heard, the dance steps performed and the happiness showed. For a night, they all were happy...

But the morning had set in and sadly he remembered the gleeful night before making him want to exchange reality for it. Because last night Aaron had felt something he hadn't felt in ages. He had felt alive and felt the harsh world to be okay again, because he was the reason Nina was smiling and somehow that made him feel good. Aaron had stared at Nina for so long after she fell asleep that this morning he was overwhelmed with confusion not sure what he had expected to see once he opened his eyes.
Because when he opened his eyes he found the empty space with him, he wasn't so sure what to say to that. He was bloody confused... and to add to it, he woke up and first person he saw was Ely sleeping in the couch.

Elena was in her sleep, a strand of hair in her face between her eyes slightly touching her luscious lips meeting halfway at the curve, she was smiling in her dreams.

And for a second Aaron smiled too without meaning to. Immediately he felt weird to be having feelings for both the girls... what was he up to? Aaron cast off all his thoughts and went to cool himself, freshen up his revived soul.

Without another glance at Elena, he went and took a shower. While the drops of water crashed his body with aggravating heat and harshness, Aaron's eyes were closed but his mind open, a little bit too open. His mind was showing a picture slide show of both Nina and Elena... they were like the angels who brought the devil out of him; he wanted both of them...

No matter how hard he tried, Aaron just couldn't choose one over another. When had his friendship turned into this complicated messy thing? When had he started having feelings for both of those girls? He asked himself again and again and again... no matter how hard the question hit him, his mind was like the clock that had stopped working for years, stuck and adamant, of no use at all.

After a short shower, he got out and suddenly wanted to talk to Nina. He wanted to see her expression; he somehow thought he could read Nina's expression like an open book. So without wasting a second, Aaron got out of the house and started walking to the perk cafe. He was more than sure that he'd find Nina there with a hot cup of coffee looking fresh and beautiful as always.

As he walked to the cafe round the corner, he felt giddy inside. He felt like a child promised a candy... he was simply excited. Sadly his giddiness didn't last long; it shattered into million pieces like the life of a glass after getting hit by a rock. Maybe Aaron was over reacting but he couldn't change the way it hurt to see Nina so happy.

He always thought it was him who made Nina the happiest, but looking at Nina smile away with the guy there, he just felt like an amateur would feel when a pro would give out the signature moves. Aaron felt the inferiority complex crawling up inside him...

Nina and the guy were among the few people in the small cafe at 7 30 am. The silent cafe didn't seem so silent with Nina's laughter filling the air and honestly no one seemed to mind. The sound of her laughter sounded like bubbles bursting near your ears, it was oddly childish yet a pleasure to hear.

Aaron seemed to have stared at the two people like forever in the last two minutes but he just couldn't make himself move away. He felt as if he were watching a movie, he had no control of the hero and heroine's next move even though he wanted to.

Nina ended a new round of laughter with "oh... I've missed you so much! Nothing's the same without you around..." and held his hands. From where Aaron was standing he actually couldn't see Nina's face with a perfect view but he could picture her flirty face on and he felt his rage rising with each passing second.

What did she mean by 'nothing's the same'? Aaron felt like he had been slapped when he was expecting a hug, and he didn't like it at all. So without taking anymore of the scene, he turned as quietly as he had entered and started back to his apartment.

Even though it took him a good 15 minutes to get there, it wasn't enough for him to be calm and cool yet. He didn't know what he was thinking, he wasn't aware of the little blabbering going on inside him. Confusion... maybe that word ought to have described the entire insanity of the way Aaron was feeling right then.

"Aaron what's wrong?" Elena just back from her shower asked looking concerned.

Elena looked beautiful to say the least; her long hair was wet and was a little curled up. She was wearing a simple black tee and cute shorts. Elena didn't need make up to look breathtakingly stunning, she just was naturally beautiful.

Aaron without thinking any of it through moved forward in a quick step and launched an out-of-nowhere kiss on Elena's luscious lips. When he felt his lips on hers, any last effects of his hangover started exiting his body and now he was fully aware of him kissing Elena. It was like Elena melted in his embrace, like she was completing him in an indescribable way. But even so, he couldn't cast off his mind just how inappropriate it was to be kissing this girl.

Within just a few seconds, Aaron pulled away from Elena with a lot of effort. Elena had this look of shock like she had been pushed from The Empire States Building. From her looks, it could be told that it wasn't a pleasant feeling.

Aaron started to look away, because he couldn't stand the huge brown eyes boring into him with the judgmental vibes as the wings to the look. He turned his back away from her pulling at his short hair out of pure frustration but Elena surprised him by pulling him to her and kissing him back in such a hurry that it took Aaron a second to actually grasp that Elena was kissing him back...
