The Windmill of Love
How does one tell when a love is true?
Love’s like a windmill that
Turns round and round.
And if it’s not true
It turns whichever way the
Wind blows.
Who knows how long
One must search for a true love
And with each turn of the wheel
Cherish the moments
That are real.
Love when it’s true and lasting
Is like a windmill that’s stopped turning
And stands as a sentinel
Guarding all that is dear and true
When the world that was once blue
Turns into a rainbow hue.
Turns round and round.
And if it’s not true
It turns whichever way the
Wind blows.
Who knows how long
One must search for a true love
And with each turn of the wheel
Cherish the moments
That are real.
Love when it’s true and lasting
Is like a windmill that’s stopped turning
And stands as a sentinel
Guarding all that is dear and true
When the world that was once blue
Turns into a rainbow hue.
