The Wetlands Institute located in Stone Harbor, New Jersey, is certainly an interesting place to visit. The Institute’s motto is "The Natural Place to Have Fun" and it certainly is a good time for the entire family. This is a great place for beach lovers to visit because it is all about promoting the conservation and preservation of the fragile coastal ecosystems. There are many programs and attractions offered all year long so it doesn’t matter when you visit because there is always something happening!

The Institute is located at 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd in Stone Harbor New Jersey. The phone number is (609) 368-1211. It is open during the summer, which includes May 15th through October 15th, from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday. There are some special events from mid June until Labor Day that keep the Wetlands Institute open until 8 pm. The institute is open on Sundays from 10 am to 5 pm and it is closed on Labor Day. Its winter hours are from October 16th through May 14th. The hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm and closed on Sunday and Monday. A vacation period for the Institute is December 23rd through New Year’s Day.

Admission at the Institute is $7 for those 12 and up. Kids aged 2-11 pay $5 and all members are admitted for free. The Institute was founded in 1969 so it has a long and rich history. It is situated near the Middle Township as well as Cape May. The building is made of cedar shake so it resembles a coast guard station from the early 1900s. The building overlooks 6,000 acres of coastal wetlands and there are more than 40,000 visitors that cross the threshold each and every year.
