The Weird Superheroes: Chapter 10

Michael's family try to comprehend what did or didn't happen that day. None of his family is sure, and Michael makes sure of that. Clay family is more clueless to what had happened that day. Both friends wonder what next adventure they will have with their new super powers.
As soon as Michael came home his Mom asked him in a harsh tone: "Where have you been?"
"I guess I just lost track of time, sorry Mom." He replied happy his mom had forgotten the events of the day. Now he had his secret identity back, being right about his sister now that was the hard part.

About five minutes later, he heard Kristin opening the door to the house,
"See ya later." She said as she walked into the house.
Laying eyes on Michael she spoke with sarcasm in her voice, "I heard all about you."
"You did, did you?" He replied quickly, starting his comeback.
Michael's Mom left the room, leaving them to work this out. She didn't know what they were talking about, and really didn't care right now.
"Yes, I did, Jesse told me all about it."

"Oh, well that was just our form of Joke. We were just in the closet. We just wanted to freak you out, and it looks like it worked."
Crap! She'll never believe that! Thought Michael as, he knew for that sure his comeback had hit a burning death.
"How rude!" She snapped hoping not to sound too fake.
I know you are lying Michael. I know what really happened to you, and someday I will expose you and Clay. She thought as she walked to her bedroom.

Hearing he door shut Michael breathed a sigh of relief. Why did she believe that? I should have been revealed right then and there. Oh, well it doesn't matter. At least my secrets safe, he thought.
Suddenly he heard the front door slam interrupting his thoughts. It was his two brothers and his Dad coming home from Salt Lake City.
"Michael, Michael I saw you flying above the car when Dad, Travis, and I were coming from Middle Canyon after looking for cans!" Shouted Tim.

Almost dropping a bowl she had got out of the cupboard to fix dinner, Michael's Mom heard what had just been said; the faintest feeling of Da `ja vu had just formed inside her head. Continuing to fix dinner she decided to listen more closely now to what was being said.
"I don't know what you're talking about I've been at Clay's house all day until now. You must have been seeing things." He explained more calmly now, so that there was no way Tim could tell he was lying.
Tim scratched his head wondering if he really had been just been seeing things,
"I told you so." His Dad agreed, not believing it himself.
This left Tim even more confused, speechless not knowing what to say.

Hearing this, Michael's Mom felt a calm feeling come over her. She was right, none of it had really happened, it couldn't have happened, it couldn't have happened. It's impossible, she thought reassuring herself. But still there was a seed of doubt in her mind.

They started walking into the kitchen to see what was for dinner, all except for Travis that it is. He stayed giving Michael the strangest look he had ever seen from his brother. It was like Travis was saying, just by looking at him, "who are you, I don't even know you." It only lasted for a few seconds, and then he too walked into the kitchen. That look gave him a creepy feeling, like something from a horror movie. Standing there for a moment, he gulped almost afraid to move.

At the very same moment at Clay's house his family was sitting down enjoying dinner.
"So, Clay what did you and Michael do all day?" Asked his Mom.
"Oh, you know just hung out."
Nodding she sipped some punch from her glass.

As Clay continued to eat his father looked at him suspiciously, waiting for the right moment to speak, too busy eating. Clay didn't ever notice the look his father gave him.
Slowly he brother Thomas turned his head, and smiled. Giving Clay a look that he knew something but wasn't going to tell what.
At the present time Michael was waiting in his basement room for dinner to be ready, and Clay continuing to eat. Both looked up and thought, I wonder what my next adventure with my Super powers will be.
